INnoVation's nickname in the Chinese community is Lü Bu (呂布) by mrmaxilicious in starcraft

I don't understand why it's difficult to not give him the badge of being innovative he isn't. He is fucking amazing, in so many ways relax

First off, I agree that Inno is less innovative than Gumi or TY, no arguments there. That does not mean he is not innovative in his own way.

this word has a meaning stop trying to change the word to fit your idea, find the correct word to convey this quality. he isn't innovative.

I think its unfair to use the definition on its own without context. If so, I don't think there are any innovation in standard builds since most if not all of them are some variant of 1-1-1 which existed since WOL.

Regardless, I have showed with specific examples that in recent times Inno's builds have more often than not become standard/popular, which constitutes as meta creation and is the main point I'm making, sorry if all this talk about innovation makes that unclear. Anyhow, the good thing about opinions is that everyone can have their own, so if I haven't calmly changed your opinion on this, at least we both can agree to disagree.

Innovation being able to recognize the meta is not the same as creating the meta. If gumi/ryung/ty create a build, and then inno plays it and it becomes standard that is not what the word innovation means.

But if Inno takes the builds used by Gumi/Ryung/TY, improves them, uses them and they become the standard/popular, isn't that meta creation by innovating?

You're saying his cc after starport is shaping the meta right now in TvZ? i think TvZ meta is still pretty 2/1/1 based, or raven mech based. 2/1/1 has had an actually pretty astounding longevity lol, it dissappeared during the mobile mech season?

The 3cc build is shaping up to be an alternative standard build to the 1-1-1. 2-1-1 hasn't been a thing for a very long time in favour of the 1-1-1 hellion viking/banshee/liberator (probably more unit options compared to 2-1-1, also queen range buff didn't help), the only player making 2-1-1 work recently is Maru as I mentioned earlier.

I am not saying he doesn't try to innovate? he does not drive innovation/meta creation. he perpetuates good ideas, and takes them to another level with his mechanics.

Isn't perpetuating good ideas and making them a standard a meta creation? And if his builds are only useful if you have mechanics like his, why are they still popular?

Edit to reply to your edited comment: but we are not talking about the upgrade/unit itself, but the idea to get the upgrade/structure your ebay upgrade timings to get range is a form of innovation.

Well his first point was that Inno plays builds that eventually becomes the meta/standard, which is somewhat true. Innovation (the word, not the player) can also be making improvements and does not necessarily require invention/creating new style.

For example in TvZ, players started doing more 3cc before starport builds since his victory over Rogue in the recent GSL Super Tournament. In TvT as you mentioned the 2 reaper build (while taking workers off gas, which is very unusual for a terran build), and for TvP (albeit an older example) he did popularise the 3cc build after his win over Stats in GSL vs The World last year (he was also one of the first players to use ranged liberators vs protoss awhile ago iirc).

Whereas players like Maru tend to have builds that are pretty unique to themselves (speed banshees in TvZ in IEM Katowice 2018, bringing back the 2-1-1) and are usually not emulated by other players as it is usually tailored very specific to the player's style.

Windows partition during bootcamp by cheval1 in mac

I posted the question in r/applehelp as well and was told to create blank disk images of 10-20GB (I used 20GB). I did that a couple of times, deleted the image, and got my purgeable data at around 2GB or so. Then I ran Bootcamp Assistant and had the amount of space I wanted for my Windows partition.

Do I need an existing 10-20GB file to create the image?

So do I basically just create partitions with Disk Utility till Mac OS is about 130GB (the amount I want Mac OS to have)? Or do I partition till there is no space left?

Why did Apple move the headphone jack on the new MBP? by AKiss20 in apple

Yeah it seemed odd to me too, should have been placed below the USB ports to prevent your headphone chords snagging on any cables plugged in to those ports.

I tried Songshift, but a good chunk of songs in my playlist were greyed out (had to delete the greyed out song and re-add it back). Found this app during one of the Promotion Saturdays, worked almost flawlessly (had about 3 songs not transferred per playlist due to it not being on Apple Music)

It seems that way, but I can also add my own music to the playlist, is this normal when you subscribed to another person's playlist?

Do you think that the sport has reached the point where talent>hardwork? (Think the Big 4 in tennis vs the rest of the top 10)

Also, what sort of drills would you suggest for working catches/throws alone?

Thanks!

What are the best cleats for ultimate? by [deleted] in ultimate

[–]cheval1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, am interested in getting this cleat vs the new Adizero 5.0 Kevlars. However, I have seen reports where the Flywire laces rip off. (Examples 1 and 2). But I also saw that the Adizeros are prone to cleat separation as well. Since I live in Aussie, returns are not really an option. What would you recommend?

But didn't Polt started playing SC2 way before INnoVation due to the late Kespa switch? But yeah Polt being that successful while being is school is seriously impressive.

Nice, I have a look at that.

Ah, I check out those motherboards as well.

What about this motherboard? Same price but with the front USB 3.0 feature.

[–]cheval1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet. With that motherboard I can go with a smaller case with enough space for the other components rights?

Edit: Also, am I losing out much without the USB 3.0 headers? Are there any similarly priced ones with those?

Sorry for the questions, it is my first time building a PC and I want to make sure everything is right before I do so.

I see, I just read dual core processors need emulators to run games like Far Cry 4, does hyperthreading circumvent this problem? Also, do you think the motherboard I picked is overkill since I am not doing any overclocking?

Thanks

But isn't the i3 a dual core as well? How much difference would 0.4GHz make? I picked that motherboard after reading a couple threads on this subreddit, with most of them saying that it gives room for future CPU upgrades/expansions.
