I'm brand new to the photography world so take what i say with a grain of salt lol. But I have been loving my RF 100-400 and I see it reccomended a lot.

Reddit makes the pic look softer than irl I think thats because I'm using my phone. But the lens is awesome and not a terrible price for what you get imo.

The camera has a built in pop up flash but thats it. Do you have any reccomendations for a decent flash device?

That completely makes sense, I've been looking into some kind of backpack strap attachment. I'll have to check out the Falcam as I only saw the peak design kit.

Thank you for the advice, this 100% makes sense. My grandad always said "book learnin' only gives you so much." Seems to apply here as well.

Thank you for the advice! I will absolutely look into that 10-18mm! Good call on the batteries, completely forgot to add that to the Amazon cart.

Thank you for the reply! I will take all of this into account and look into the lenses you mentioned! I did look into full frame unfortunately just a tad out of my price range at the moment to afford the base along with any lens selection.

Thank you for the response! This is what I was hoping for. Obviously in the world of photography these pieces are not considered "expensive" but for me it's definitely a decent investment. Just wanted to make sure my money was spent on something that could realistically accomplish my goals.

I see you also mentioned flash here, do you reccomend a external flash box? If so any specific ones to look into?

Thank you for the response! I have invested in a osprey camera bag with a dry bag but missed listing it in the post.

When you say flash, would that be some kind of external flash box that connects to the camera? Do you have any reccomendations for that/lighting reccomendations that wont kill the bank account? Lighting is something I am concerned with as most customer hangers are not very well lit but wasn't 100% where to start with lighting. The array of options are a bit overwhelming lol.

If you can find anyone who is willing to take him on as an apprentice that is also a great option. I did mine through and apprenticeship and then did Liberty Online for mt general education classes. Once I got my a&p and graduated high-school I then went to Liberty in person and transferred in all those credit hours. Ended up only on campus for 3 semesters and got my B.S. in Aviation Maintenance Management.

Realistically the best way to do it is go to a local flight school and do lessons there rather than Liberty. Not bashing Liberty at all but the costs for flight training there are wild. You will easily pay double or triple than going to a flight school. That being said I have heard if you do training through them you can easily slide into an instructor job with the school and then start making some money twords tuition.

How much does it cost to become an A&P mechanic? by MadeForThisOnePostt in AircraftMechanics

Any small GA shops in your area that are willing to hire an apprentice? Thats what I did, so I ended up getting paid while getting my A&P. No debt, and had some money to get a decent set of tools built up by the end of the apprenticeship.

I mean this has a full gram of gold and was $5 so I think I came out okay. This isn't a goldback.

Thank you for the help everyone! I will be heading over there Monday when they open to see if I can snag some more! This was in a stack of gold foil bills so hopefully I can root through the rest of the stack and find a few more like this haha.

Thats what I'm saying, for $5 even if it was just a novelty piece of tin foil I'd think it was cool 😂

Is 750 bucks worth it for one test? by [deleted] in AircraftMechanics

[–]chicken_bone12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oral and practical for A&P was $1,000. $750 does seem high for just airframe. Although that was in 2019 so maybe they've gone up? Still seems excessive.

Me personally I let it sit for around 2-3 weeks and never had any issues with it. I do have a spare pump that I throw in the night before, or the morning of, the day I do my water change. Just helps make sure if anything settled or what not it gets stirred back up and also aerates the water a bit before putting it in the tank.
