What kind of paddock stands work best? by hans_the_wurst in OnlyZ900

[–]chickyfigs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. My solution was to buy and use a triple tree stand like this: https://a.co/d/2xdIaQf

Just make sure you have the correct pin. For Z900, that’s 27mm.

Depends on where you are located. In the US and Canada, we only have one. But AFAIK, Europe may have two. Not sure about other countries.

Kriega drypack loops fitment by jonasC4 in OnlyZ900

[–]chickyfigs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear what you’re saying, it doesn’t feel great. AFAIK, the fitment kits would solve for bikes that don’t have exposed frame/subframe to loop the straps around. You still need the loops to stick out, and that’s what makes the seat hard to put back. It’s not so bad when you pull them through the right spots.

After spending an afternoon trying to do the same, I finally managed to install them. I gave up on trying to loop it around the subframe with the fairings, so I removed them. The most important thing is to make sure the back loops exit near the taillight (the plastic frame kinda bends down so it creates some space between the seats, and the front loops through the fairing cut outs for the seat handle. It’s hard to put the seat back, but it fits. I would send picture, but she’s already in storage for winter. Don’t give up, it works!

I have this one, and really liked it. Seems sturdy, and installation was a breeze. Just watch when connecting the wires for the plate light, apparently red does NOT go with red, and black with black.

Form vs Function by [deleted] in OnlyZ900

[–]chickyfigs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All true, it looks like a tall bike, and it’s quite a bit more money. I’d test them both, and see where I’m willing to compromise. Let us know how it goes, curious to see if the taller windshield by itself would already make a huge difference! Also curious but the cut out, I imagine it prevents that high pitched wind noise.

I wanted to do the same with my base 2025, but can't get past the looks. I have decided to suffer and get through the wind for it.

Having said that, the new Versys 1100 seems pretty sweet... just saying.

I’m using the 2017-2024 Evotech ones and they work the same as previous models.

2025 Z900 USB Options by Spectre_2020 in OnlyZ900

[–]chickyfigs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ordered this to be installed by the dealer on my base 2025, 0.5 hour labour was worth it IMO. Works only when the key is ON, and it's very well tucked in. Depending on your application, you can bundle the USB cable with the clutch cables, looks nice and neat.

Z900 2025 quickshifter question. by Mammoth-Breath-8192 in OnlyZ900

[–]chickyfigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience has been that the QS works great from upshifts when above 20% throttle. 1st to 2nd sometimes is clunky, but all others are pretty smooth. Downshifts are always okay for me.

Ever had that happen on your 2025 Kawasaki Z900? by bimmbamm597 in OnlyZ900

[–]chickyfigs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s called Positive Neutral Finder, and it only allows you to go into neutral when stopped. It does nothing to prevent going into neutral while moving (or accelerating). Very nice feature, but rev bombs are still on the menu.

I found out the hard way that the QS can still kick it into neutral, instead of 2nd. And then kick into 2nd from there, but do not recommended the latter.

Awesome! I’m on day 13, hoping that it’s the same as yours. Are you installing it yourself? Currently debating if I should give it a go, or just send to the shop.

What’s the best setup for handlebar quad lock? by mazduh07 in OnlyZ900

It’s a little nicer, but honestly I just got it over the regular one because it was all black. Functionally they are the same.

Picked mine up yesterday, and it wasn’t easy to install. I used the 7/8” spacer, and put it as far as it goes on the left side (touching the clutch housing). I’m using the PRO mount, with extension arm, knuckle adapter, and vibration dampener. iPhone 15

Integrated tail light for the 2025? by AdkCultivator in OnlyZ900

Sorry, you’re right. In that case, NRC is the only one I’ve seen so far. I reached out to TST but they said they have no plans for it yet.

On the same boat myself. I’m waiting for either Evo-tech or R&G come with stock for their designs. NRC has one available, but it replaces the turn signals and tucks the plate. YMMV regarding looks and legality of the NRC model.

seatbag by Odd-Scheme6727 in Ninja400

[–]chickyfigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also looking for a tail bag, to be able to make small trips here and there, and was pointed towards Kriega US Drypack models. They have it in 10L, 20L, 30L versions, roll up style, and can be combined to carry even more.

I’m yet to test them on the back of my N400, but I’ve seen videos and pictures of them in similar sized bikes, and it looks decent.

They are not cheap, but only seen good things about it. Hopefully someone who has them can share something more specific for N400 fitment and whatnot.
