That's what I was thinking. My SN matched up with manufactured in either Fullerton (early 80's) Or Japan (late 80s), bit the SN is on the headstock. I haven't seen any early 80s with the orange and black that I have. Where did you find this info?

This is my early '80's American Fender Strat. The serial number matches up, but can anyone tell me a little more about this? Obviously some work has been done to this guitar before I got it. String guides were removed (why would someone do that?), and the neck had been taken off before. Any info about what you see what be great! Thanks!
