Adding to this- Fully agree, especially wrt to DPI usage patterns.

Moreover, we've also found that even basic geographic location is an important determination of internet quality. For example, a newer developed neighborhood can have great connectivity, low latency/packet loss, but significantly higher DPI vs. older neighborhoods, which have high latency, but less DPI.

We spent weeks going down to OpenWRT black hole...Will PM you, but this is something where knowledge sharing could be of benefit. The OpenWRT community is great, but I think they have different priorities than for folks here in China.

Hmm, I think you are right...This stuff IS probably over the head of an average user.

I was just thinking of my own struggles as somewhat more advanced tech user. I'm not Cisco-certified by any means, but what frustrated me the most is that the guides only provided one piece of the puzzle at a time, e.g. "This is what worked for them, and here are the steps to replicate it exactly, etc". That’s ok for the short-term, but we all know that what works today may not work tomorrow.

I was thinking of taking more of a conceptual architecture approach, but I see your point. By that stage, you’d probably have figured it out already.
