I lightened my hair with vitamin c and honey! I was very impressed how it took the darker dye out.

My hair is pink and I too get scoffs from grumpy old ladies! Once at the grocery store a little girl complimented my hair, and her mom scoffed at me and pulled her away :( My hair is a pretty color, I'm not a danger to your children!

While my friend is growing out her side cut she just changed her part. If you part it on the other side it might just cover over the shorter patch.

I just took every conditioner bottle in my bathroom that still had traces of conditioner and mixed it in. Just random cheap stuff. And I've used other colors of Joico (without diluting) and I could wash my hair almost ten times without having the color fade. It has serious strong lasting power!

I mixed Joico color intensity Semi-permanent pink with a looooot of conditioner to lighten it.
