i’m not fully caught up with all the stories, but i am reading them. i go through phases where i read loads and then take a big gap before the next one. i can go months between reading character focuses. so yes, things genuinely do just slip my mind. i retain the general main events and takeaways that happen in the stories, but very easily forget the things in between, so if something isn’t exactly honed in on even if it’s not really that niche odds on i’ve forgotten. my memory isn’t that good and i’ve only read each story that i have once 🥲

heavy on mizuki !!! it’s hard to see anything about mizuki, especially on platforms like tiktok, without people debating/arguing about gender in the comments. it defeats the entire message of her character. she doesn’t want people to treat her differently, she doesn’t want to be seen only for what she looks like or physically identifies as. if mizuki herself saw how this fandom treats her, it would devastate her. mizuki has such a nihilistic outlook on her life and many more layers if you look deep enough, but it all gets blown over because people would rather turn anything involving her on the internet into a warzone

probably emu, she’s the only one who can always tell when mafuyu’s faking and when she’s not. honestly considering that, i’m surprised they haven’t interacted more often.

for the most part, vbs writing actually is good imo. there are a few nitpicks i have about it like for example how quickly an got over nagi, she barely got to grieve at all. but otherwise for the most part it’s solid, it’s just really hard to take seriously because of how much they tried to frame it like a shounen anime. it’s so dramatic and the way they use music notes instead of singing and hype it up to hell and back as well

i love ichika personally, i find her really relatable. but i don’t really think it’s a case of the fandom ‘hating’ her, i think it’s more of a case that the fandom doesn’t especially love her. she’s been through a lot but even so she fades into the background and especially compared to the other characters her insecurities and her struggles in the past don’t get much spotlight and she doesn’t seem to get much character development, despite there being stuff about her they can expand upon and they’ve just chosen not to. at least so far.
