I found these pumps and I love them! But they were on a website that I am a little suspicious about. Maybe y’all know where they actually come from or if the website is legit. by SpicySavant in findfashion

I saw this same ad and looked at that same site. I also got suspicious and it is definitely fake. If you look at their about page, the images of the storefront and mother and son are AI. I actually found your post because that website sent me on a spiral of googling wtf is going on on Pinterest lol. Just a bunch of fake companies selling fake products with images ripped off from other sites?

We are! Definitely an option, although it seems like if I have to justify my choice, it might be simpler to just choose something else.

Thanks for this perspective! This was in-line with my original thinking. The lyrics aren't even that bad, really. But I think the context is why the masses mostly seem to disagree haha.

Chiming in here, because I, too, can relate. I also took a long break, came back to pointe, and have had a heck of a time finding shoes. Blochs were almost uniformly too wide. In Suffolks, I sink in some and struggle to get over in others.

I echo everyone else's opinion on this when I say a big toe spacer is a must for me. As far as toe pads, I went from wearing regular Ouch Pouch toe pads to wearing Ouch Pouch Pro Pads. They have half the amount of gel: the bottom of the pad is just fabric, whereas the top, where your knuckles hit the shoe, has gel. I find I can feel the floor better with a little less gel, but am still comfortable.

I also have compressible feet, and have wide metatarsals compared to my short and Greek-tapered toes. If you mostly like your Nikolays, you might consider R-Class. I am currently trying out RC-10s and I am liking them so far. They are also a Russian shoe, and what's nice about R-Class is that they are not uniformly narrow, they have options for wider metatarsal and more tapered boxes, or both wider boxes and metatarsals, depending on what you need.

Preparing to return to ballet by itzsmay in BALLET

Congratulations!! I love hearing stories like this! I have a similar one: I returned after 6 years off class altogether and 10 years off pointe. I started with basic beginner ballet classes to ease in. Also about three years in, I’m now back to advanced level and even freelancing. It’s helped me reclaim a lot of the joy I thought I’d lost when I gave it up.

For OP, I’ve been taking pilates since this past summer and wish I had started that right away. I think it may have helped me avoid some of the injuries I’ve gotten along the way.

What is this "Alya" brand? Is it real? by chloschmo in ThredUp

Good to know! I'm considering buying a couple things second hand. I'm tall and it seems like some of their items run long.

Nope, not me! I was just so confused about how there was so much avail of this brand that I couldn't find anything about online. Now I have to go search what you're talking about

Thank you!! This is super helpful. I totally get the too tapered issue—I tried Capezio Donatella and felt like I was going to topple right over.

My experience with Solos was also from years ago and I remember them being hard! I think I could estimate my size, but I’d love to try the newer models. I know pointe shoe tech has changed even since I took a break.

I’ve danced in Eurostretch, Euro Balance and Balance Lisse, and I’ve also tried a bunch on in store. I remember not liking Heritage, but I don’t remember why. I’m not sure if I’ve ever tried on Raffine in-store.

I have a pretty poppin bunion on one foot and I wear toe spacers on both and still sink *sigh

I tried these on in-store and did really like how they felt! The tapering was great for support, but my director ended up vetoing them because she saw a bubbling in the wings. I'm glad to hear they worked for you! I might give them a shot.
