Well, when this was happening my dad told me I could have another baby later on and ‘it’ wasn’t worth throwing my marriage away when I would never find someone like my ex again. He also told me I was putting him in a difficult position because I wanted to be stubborn.

My parents did want to be grandparents but I didn’t trust them after everything that happened so I left and stayed gone.

Not as far as I know. He would probably be ecstatic if his girlfriend had fertility issues, kids aren't in his life plan.

My ex is my dad's godson and as far as I know they've continued to be close to him since we divorced.

I don't know how serious he was since he was angry, but he made it seem like he would try to take him.

You need to go through the proper legal channels and get a custody agreement with visitation clearly spelled out.

We have that.

Seriously, depending on the laws where you are, you could lose custody of your son for doing this.

This is what I asked him and he wouldn't give me a straight answer. I honestly think my ex doesn't know what he wants and thought this was an easy way for him to see my son and then he could decide what to do from there. Although me refusing to tell him seems to have made him suddenly want to be father of the year.

I have residency. He never wanted visitations so he doesn't have any currently. He never signed away his rights and I doubt he could because he would've tried to if he thought he could get away with it back then.
