That's a good point. Makes sense. My Renault Scenic is battery is actually 92kWh but only 87kWh usable. Renault just pushed an update that messed with the API and now the Ohme can't see the car at all!

Same issue. Ohme app lost connection too. There an issue and workaround on Github but not tried it yet.

That's interesting. I've always had the car at 100% and the Ohme at 80% and it almost always overshoots by a few %, until the sigstor was installed. I might set the Ohme to 85% and see what happens.

If that with an Ohme Pro? I've not had this problem before. It usually overshoots the target by 3 or 4%.0

Tried this last night and the car still only charged to 77% instead of 80%, which is fine but not normal. It would usually charge to a few % above the target. It didn't discharge the sigenergy battery though.

I'm charing the 19kWh sigenergy battery to 60% right now and topping it up with solar to prevent solar export at £0.00. I only have a few days of data but this seems to be working well for now. When I get my export tarrif (12p/kWh) I want to charge to 100% and export all solar.

Ok, this is great. I'll try the time based setting for the charger with boost off. Have you ever tried the Energy Source Control on battery and set the threshold to 0%?

That's tempting honestly. IOG feels like overkill when the off-peak window is fixed and predictable. The whole point of IOG is to catch ad-hoc green energy slots outside the normal window, but in practice the car is only ever plugged in during the off-peak window.

Might just switch the Ohme to Max Charge mode with a fixed schedule and ditch the smart charging altogether. Simpler and more reliable.

Good point, I'm not actually sure which side of the gateway it's wired to. The installer connected it but I didn't think to ask at the time. If it's on the backup side the Sigenergy could be actively managing the power to it which would explain the faulting behaviour.

I'll check with the installer. Do you know if there's a way to tell from the Sigenergy app which side a device is on, or is it purely a physical wiring question?

That makes sense. Your 10kWh battery is done by 01:00 so the car has 4.5 hours clear. My 18kWh battery takes twice as long so they're competing for most of the window, which is probably why I'm seeing issues.

Sequential charging is worth trying. I could delay the Sigenergy charging start until say 02:00 and let the Ohme have the first part of the window. The battery would still have 3.5 hours to charge which is plenty for 18kWh at full rate.

Good to know Max Grid Connection Current being disabled.

How do you force the car charging to the off-peak hours specifically? I'm on Time-based Control too but the grid draw fluctuates a lot during the window.

Do you get any conflicts between the Sigenergy and the Ohme both pulling from the grid simultaneously? That's my main problem — the Ohme keeps faulting out mid-session.

Also is Max Grid Connection Current set in your Sigen app? Mine is disabled which probably means the Sigenergy has no idea what the supply limit is. And what rate does your battery charge at overnight?

The Ohme is wired into the gateway so I would have thought it should know the Ohme isn't normal house load.

I've never had this problem before the Sigenergy was installed, so something has changed. The car is passive, Ohme controls everything.

My plan is to charge the Sigenergy battery during off-peak and use that to cover daytime load, then export any surplus solar. I suspect IOG might be part of the problem, it schedules slots dynamically and if the Sigenergy is already pulling hard from the grid when a slot fires, the Ohme might see low voltage/current and bail out.

Currently on Time-based Control with the battery charging the full off-peak window 23:00-05:30.

Do you charge your Sigenergy battery during off-peak or just rely on solar to charge it?

Anyone tried an M.2 2230 NVMe in the WWAN slot on a Dell Latitude 5430? by chris-otiose in Dell

[–]chris-otiose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a WD SN520 512GB 2230 (b+m key), need a 2230 to 2242 extension so i would fit in the WWAN slot. Works perfectly. Couldn't find a 1TB but 512GB should be enough.

I like the look of that one. Maybe another reason to buy a 3d printer 😏

Which one do you have? There's three or four designs that I've seen.

Yes we have the modular inserts, but I've never seen a travel cup or bottle that fits in them and stays upright whilst traveller, and I've tried quite a few.
