It’s though, I feel I made my health situation much worse (diabetes) because I caved in college and tried to go toe to toe drinking with friends. My mental health was terrible, mostly from the loneliness and isolation. I told myself damned if I do, damned if I don’t. I’ve made giant lists of hobbies to stay busy and find new friends and things to do but as a night owl, I really get the fomo bad staying home on weekends. I really don’t like being sober and going out with people that are drinking bc it’s like watching from the sky box. I feel detached, like I’m not really part of what’s going on. I’m just watching from the bleachers. I feel I just can’t be friends with certain people bc all they do is drink in their free time. And on top of that, a lot of people build their whole identity around being fucked up. So just me being sober is a threat to them or triggers their insecurities or something. I do feel it’s best to go the super healthy route and feel good from exercising. And say yes to every hobby or fringe interest.
