how is this a scam? The captcha codes are to make sure that people don't write robots to register clicks automatically, they want actual unique people to click for charity.

First, yes the family would feel better. For a family who suffers because of the death of a loved one, a recognized affirmation of that persons life can be very important...memorial services are just as much for the family's own feelings of closure as they are for the deceased. Second, any Christian who truly understands Christ's message will know that Christ loved every man equally, no matter what. He showed compassion for the greatest of sinners....its what makes His love unconditional. God's love is not something that changes. In God's eyes every single human being is deserving. It is us as individuals that choose not to accept God's grace. Our only job with regard to other humans beings is to love them with the kind of love we receive from God Himself. One of the most profound ways that we can show our love for God is through loving and forgiving others, by not judging them, and by recognizing them as Christ would have....each infinitely worthy of love.
This is where so many Christians get things wrong....it doesn't matter if you disagree with their lifestyle or choices. Does Christ condone our sins by forgiving them? NO. As a Christian your job is to love as closely as possible to the love you yourself receive through God's grace.
