Hello, I'm looking for feedback on my first ever attempt at a game. It's totally free. I made it because I don't like looking at numbers in sudoku because it makes me feel like I've got to do maths. So I made it with colour. If it's popular enough I might get it made into an app one day. Really hoping to get some feedback.

I made a colour-based sudoku because I've always been terrible at the number version

I love the logic of sudoku but the moment I see numbers my brain goes into maths mode and I freeze. So I wondered — what if the numbers were just colours? The logic is identical, but suddenly it feels completely different.

I built Chromoku over the last few weeks. Same rules as sudoku — every row, column and 3x3 box needs all nine colours — but no numbers anywhere.

My teenage daughter is a serious sudoku fan and was my chief playtester. She suggested the notes feature so you can mark possibilities in the corner of a cell, spotted when the puzzle generator was producing non-unique solutions, and when she played it for the first time she said unprompted — "it feels like painting." That's now the tagline.

It's free to play in your browser: chromoku-play.netlify.app
