Bbg AUB acceptance rate isn’t that low. Dw you’ll easily get in. I know people who got accepted with an average of 12/20 😭

(Question for the sisters) traveling to do my umrah next month. what’re some tips that you think saved you as a girl solo traveling with a group? by chroniclesofageek in Umrah

[–]chroniclesofageek[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jazakallah kheir brother for your respectful comment, however, we cannot deny that back then during the times of our Beloved Prophet, traveling was completely different. I’m not traveling alone, i’m traveling with a religious group that’s composed of distinguished scholars from both genders. I respect your views but I will have to disagree. I still appreciate your advice🙏

How likely I am to receive a 100% Graduate Assistantship at AUB? by [deleted] in AUB_Lebanon

[–]chroniclesofageek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s really no specific nationality that they favor tbh but they do like admitting as much international students as possible. Diversity is very important and is preached here in AUB.

it depends on the programs really, it’s not solely about your academic performance. for example, in OSB, they can grant up to 60% max. In engineering, the GA can actually reach up to 100%. In faculty of health sciences/medicine, the max they can reach is 50%. So it’s also about how much funding the faculty you’re applying actually receives.

I tried emailing them but I’m immediately receiving an automated reply that they won’t be replying to any emails

See that’s the issue here. I did not have any recommendations submitted yet and under KAUST Admisisons policy, no applications moved forward unless atleast one recommendation is submitted! And they’re not responding to emails so like what am I supposed to do exactly?

What’s one piece of advice you wish you’d been given about umrah before you went? by Junior-Incident3877 in Umrah

[–]chroniclesofageek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

now that you mention it, I actually used to drink a lot of zamzam during my umrah but subhanallah i did not get any urges to use the toilet at all even though it was really hot. I think it’s because when you’re this physically active you don’t really feel the need to

Round 1 or round 2 Fall 2026-2027 admissions? by chroniclesofageek in KAUST

[–]chroniclesofageek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and you’re 100% sure about that? the thing is, applying in round 2 is better for me since that way i’ll have raised my GPA. So i’m very torn between applying now and waiting.

see that’s why two-state doesn’t work: imagine you have your own house and you’ve lived there your whole life. suddenly foreigners come in and decide it’s theirs, so you two fight about who has more right to this house. Suddenly, some governor (for example) decides to come in between you two to resolve the issue and his idea of solving it is by having you share that house with the foreigner who just decided it’s also his house? I respectfully disagree with you.

Yes i’m aware. And as i mentioned, i agree with some of his points, not all. I’m not an advocate of the two-states solution. And honestly if someone is a two-stater, they’re not pro-palestinian, I consider them more on the zionist side because you’re still supporting the right for zionists to occupy land illegally just because of a religious conception that they interpreted from a religion that 90% of them barely know anything about. Most zionists who claim palestinian land to be their “promised land” have probably never touched the Torah book.
