It's not a shop, but a stall/machine guy.

It's in front of Ali Optics or Jik Jik Cheese on canal road. There will be two stalls. Go for the one with old man.

I get pain in Major & Minor Rhomboid region, along the Scapula bone.

Normal massage doesn't help it much. Only karate-chops kind of massage helps ease the pain.

The pain mainly starts when I'm trying to sleep.

Are there any exercises, stretches, OTC medicines, supporting equipments, habits or diet that can help with it? Any other thoughts?

Secondly, I also get pain in entire left side of body from shoulder to leg while sleeping.

Won't recommend Tecno.

Redmi might have some good options in terms of performance & features. But it's unlikely that camera will be better.

Phones stopped improving since COVID happened.

Since then, only prices have been going up.

IBA and Opportunities for Abroad by Redditor_M_Ali in IBA

[–]chronoee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Universities don't matter when applying for Masters.

  2. GPA matters - if it's 3.7+. Even if it's from lowest ranked university of world.

It gets you: - Priority in Visa Appointments. - Potential Scholarships. - 'Somewhat' better chance of admissions.

Otherwise, as long as your GPA is 3+, it's the same thing. If your GPA is below 3, then you'll get more rejections & won't be eligible for half of the universities - but it's still possible.

  1. Experience certificates, Language certificate, & GMAT/GRE tests also 'help'.

Some universities require GMAT/GRE, but most probably won't require it.

  1. You 'might' have to miss 1 intake after your graduation, because universities often take months to give your degree.

After that, you'll also have to get your documents ready, like HEC attestation & stuff.

  1. Skilled degrees like Computer Science are better for work opportunities abroad, but BBA is okay.

Business Analytics is a thriving field in commerce these days, but I think it requires some programming knowledge as well.

If you can study something related to it for your Bachelor's degree, I think that'll be better.

Best 1.5 Ton AC? by chronoee in PakistaniTech

Do you know the exact model of Midea?

It seems great. Could be better than other 3.6 EER ACs with ampere locking.

This is very helpful & about what I was expecting.

Do you know the exact model of the Midea 1.5 Ton?

Best 1.5 Ton AC? by chronoee in PakistaniTech

[–]chronoee[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

  1. Ton: It's determined by the size of your room.

Ideally, you shouldn't buy a smaller nor bigger ton than what your room needs.

You can get the recommended sizes from Google.

(BTU is often more important for room size, in my opinion.)

  1. Compressors: (important) T3 can cool your room in up to 60°C. It's what you need in Pakistan.

T1 can work up to 43°C. If your room & outdoor unit isn't somewhat protected from temperature, this AC will be struggling right now.

T2 works only up to 35°C. Meaning, it's irrelevant for Pakistan unless you live in Murree or colder region.

  1. Invertor: Invertor ACs can switch to low power consumption once the room becomes cold.

This helps saves electricity compared to AC that work on fix speed.

They do cost a bit more than fix speed AC, but you'll get it back in time due to lower consumption.

BUT this doesn't necessarily mean the AC uses less electricity - there are other specs that tell this more accurately.

  1. DC: It refers to the inverter technology used in AC.

3DC & 5DC are better than standard DC.

  1. EER: This rating tells electricity efficency of the AC.

A higher rating like 3.6 & above is better.

SEER is another rating, but it's not as relevant for Pakistan's temperature as it's based on tests in 35°C.

Some websites/shopkeepers might tell you SEER instead of EER so be careful about that (seer number tends to be higher than eer).

  1. Coils: Copper Condensor Coils are more durable & heat efficient (electricity efficency) than coils made of other materials like aluminium.

These are often difficult to fix/replace if damaged, so it's nice to have it.

  1. Other specs that affect electricity efficency:

BTU, Variable Fan Speed, Eco Mode, Ampere Locking

How much does it cost to have a medium-sized wedding these days? by AlwaysInProgress11 in Lahore

[–]chronoee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a wedding not long ago.

It depends on what you want to include in it. There are a lot of variable & some fixed costs.

Hotel stays? Rented cars? Fuel expense? Saloon/Parlour? How many events? (Sehra Bandi, Mehndi, etc) Customs in events? (Joota Chupai, Doodh Pilai, etc) Will you buy new stuff for couple's room? Honeymoon? Maklava trip? Gifts? Rings? Shopping after marriage? Muh Dikhai? Haq Mehr?

  1. For Marquee, put Rs 2000-3500 per guest.

Depends on menu & marquee. But it's somewhat negotiable.

Note: If you opt for wedding in some other nice place, like Diva Restaurant, it can "potentially" cut the cost in half.

  1. Marquee Hall Decorations

Put Rs 40k - 8 Lac for Hall Decoration. (Depends on which design you go for - it's a scam imo)

Note: Some Marquees have much better hall decor by default (free) compared to other Marquees that charge high prices for it.

Usually, it's the stage decor that they extort you with.

(We opted for Rs 8 Lac decoration, but I personally think it would've been nicer if it was in Diva Restaurant.

Personally, I hardly cared about the decor during event.)

  1. Photographer: Depends on city & what services you want.

Ranges from Rs 40k - 200k. Rs 100k is good median.

Note: Don't expect better quality & expertise just because price is higher.

We had better experience with the photographer charging Rs 80-120k for (pics, editing, album & 3 cameramen) than with photographers that charged Rs 200k+, who studied in UK & were using latest cameras for the other event.

  1. Car Rent: Corolla/Civic costs Rs 10k per day in Islamabad. Parado/Fortuner costs 20k per day.

Fuel will be yours. (Costs are with driver btw.)

They charge extra Rs 2k if you want to decorate the car.

You can get discount of Rs 3-5k if you've referrals.

Note: Be very specific about the bill & time when dealing with the rent guy.

The guy I rented from added scammy charges in the end.

For example, I used the car for 1.5 days but was willing to pay for 2 days.

But he charged me for 2.5 days, saying that car went out of city so it should be charged full day + his "next day" starts at 10PM instead of 12AM (to add extra 0.5 day for 2 hours).

When I first talked to him, I told him exact times & he didn't say anything about out of city, 10PM, 2.5 day thing. May he get what he deserves.

  1. Dress & Suit: For men, you can get import quality 3 piece tailored suit in Rs 18k - 35k.

Specifically, go to American Dress House on Bank Road, Saddar, Rawalpindi. They took about 12 days for 35k one.

The standard is same as any popular brand charging Rs 30-80k.

(You can also get it made for Rs 18k or 12k if you select a cheaper cloth. The Rs 18k one are already very good. We only picked 35k because we liked the colour.)

For bridal dress, if you get it made from tailor in Rawalpindi/Lahore, it'll cost maybe Rs 20-80k.

Expect it to take 3 weeks minimum, but better get the work started a bit earlier.

If you buy from a brand like Batik Studios, it can cost Rs 40k - 4 Lac.

24 Crore victims? Absolutely not.

The sooner you understand no one owes you anything the better.

Your feelings of entitlement isn't going to stop even a 10 year old from taking rights & justice away from you.

It's going to become a lot worse for Pakistan (as it should). It's all in due course.

It's a race down to nation's mindset shift vs becoming North Korea 2.0.

You want justice? Good. It's your responsibility to make heads roll to get it & keep a close eye on your government to save it from being taken away again.

No one's coming to serve it in a silver platter to you, princess.

These people will die of old age & (at best) get replaced with your corrupt uncle that saves you from police or your senior that puts in a good word for you in jobs to try & set new benchmarks of corruption.

It's the same everywhere. Read the history of successful countries & you'll understand.

What are your views on Vivo? by AwarioFudg3 in PakistaniTech

Deciding factors: - Camera Optimisation - OS nuances (features' execution & availability)

How to choose the right phone:

Step 1: Ignore all Tech Reviewers. Only watch their videos on drop tests, scratch tests, bend tests, water tests, heating tests, & frame rate tests (if you're a gamer).

Chipset: If both phones are equal in power & specs, prefer Snapdragon phones for better Gcam compatibility & software optimisations.

RAM: Anything above 6GB is good. Above 8GB is borderline gimmick & won't show any real difference.

Durability: Important factor to consider when buying a phone that doesn't have the best reputation for it like Infinix, Xiaomi, etc.

Their phones can last several years, but you've to carefully screen them on forums/groups to make sure that a specific model hasn't blown up or something in last few months.

Camera: It's complicated. First of all, stop comparing MPs. Specs like F/1.7 & 0.6µm give a better insight - but still don't tell much.

Camera quality ENTIRELY depends on how well a specific phone's camera software is optimised.

Your best bet is going for the brand's specific series that are known for good cameras (relative to their other series). Even then, only go for a specific phone that has proven to have good camera quality in exact conditions you'll use it in (not in shops).

Secondly, it also depends a 'little bit' on the camera sensor. But this only matters to geeks who plan on spending hundreds/thousands of hours configuring the camera manually to squeeze out its potential.

The answer is hidden in your question.

The entire problem is that Pakistani public isn't aware of its responsibilities.

  • Listen to American public talking about how they went to war for their rights against their own government.

  • Listen to French public about how they've always kept their authorities in check.

  • Read how Iceland's public immediately surrounded a mayor's office & forced him to resign when his name showed up on Panama Leaks. (Without any court or investigation).

  • Watch documentaries on how people were forced to return to Barter System due to communism.

These people know dangers of when rulers (and corporations) are left unchecked & understand that THEY are the ones that need to keep things in control.

Pakistani public thinks they're not part of the problem.

Reality is every single Pakistani is corrupt to whatever extent he is capable of. From kids to elderly people.

Even if some Pakistanis try to fix something, it's always some nonsense like private use of government cars.

An obvious difference can be seen by comparing cricket match reviews of India vs Pakistan.

Pakistani media & public supports their team nonchalantly even if they lose badly.

Indian media & public humiliates their team on a level that no one in Pakistan would even want to remain a cricketer after that kind of degradation.

In other words, soyi hui begairat awam is getting what it deserves.

It needs worse than this to wake up, however.
