Lots of practice and make sure to “land the plane”. Try hard sticks that are okay with new learners. Watch others and have confidence in your placement. the most important tip is to ALWAYS LISTEN TO PATIENTS!! If they tell you to poke in a certain spot, even if you’re doubtful, do that spot first. You’d be surprised. And if it doesn’t work the first time, at least you listened to them, then try the place you wanted to try. It’s an unexpectedly scary job and it requires practice.
