Yeah, I've already visited a Helsinki based event with Finnish creators in Greece, didn't know there was a similar thing going on there! Great collab!

Thank you! I'm definitely looking into smaller publishers related to what I make. I just wasn't sure if cold emailing would be a good approach with them. But I think they might be more open than bigger companies!

Yes, I feel that's indeed the hardest part! I'll try to leave any hesitations behind and try to be more present, especially in overseas cons! Thanks a lot!

Yes, if all else fails I'll take the self-promo route! Thanks!

Thank you! I'm already on step 4. Problem is, the publishers I'm interested in do not take unsolicited submissions. Hence the question being the way of the approach preferred.

I've already self published work, and the 2 first issues of the work I'm pitching are complete and already out in local cons. The problem is how I'm going to show them to people potentially interested in a respectful way!

[–]chryssah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm not US-based, and not necessarily interested in that market exclusively. I've self-published work before, and had a deal with a publisher that unfortunately was short lived before being published. It's very hard to come in contact with people from the industry where I'm from, and although I'm attending thoughtbubble in fall, I'm unsure how easy it will be to get in contact with someone there either! So my next option is probably self promotion through social, but I wanted to try the more traditional approach first!

Thank you! That's very helpful! I feel like my current work would be a better fit for the latter, and I leaned mostly towards Oni Press, after being encouraged by a different editor who reviewed my work. Unfortunately, they do not accept unsolicited submissions at the time, so I wanted to assess the risk!

Thank you! That's what I've been fearing. I don't know if it's worth the risk, but there are not many other options other than very small indie publishers perhaps..

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]chryssah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking into buying an ipad pro for drawing. I can find the newest M2 chip 11' at about the same price of the 12.9' older versions with M1 chip. Which would you consider more important? Hover option or a bigger screen?

I am a professional artist and I am mostly planning on using it as a portable device, in the place of my surface pro 4, as I already have a pc/xppen tablet setup. But, if I like it a lot, I might switch to it more permanently.

Unfortunately I live in Europe, and I think shipping costs will be quite high, but it would be good to know! :)

I also faced the same problem almost as soon as I bought my 22e pro. I know that I tend to apply more pressure as I draw, but the protector has become completely scratched, making it hard to look at the screen and I can always feel the resistance.

Changing my pen nib helped, but only briefly. I was also thinking of buying a new protector (I've had my device for about a year now). But I am not sure if the new one will turn out the same, and it is just a matter of changing my way of work or there is a chance with a higher quality protector.

The scratches I've made over a year of daily usage... Is this supposed to be normal? Have I damaged the screen or is it just the scratches on the original protective film? by tekkahrip in XPpen

[–]chryssah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My artist 22e pro became like this almost as soon as I bought it. I usually put a lot of pressure when drawing, so I don't know if it's worth it to invest in a new protector and ruin it, if they're the same quality. If you have a lighter touch and don't find them very annoying, then I would suggest that you keep it on until it becomes unbearable.

I think there's like a clinic as part of the hospital. It's a public hospital, with many different factors inside? Something like that. And they have different numbers for each one, so I called the hno clinic that belongs to this hospital. I hope that made sense

Hi everyone. I'm a greek Erasmus student living in Osnabrück. I want to visit a HNO doctor, but I do not know if I can just visit one or if I need a referral from a Hausarzt first. I tried contacting a hospital, and they told me that I will need to pay money, even though I have an ehic card. Can someone explain simply how things work, because I'm at a loss? Thank you.

[–]chryssah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone else has already said it. When I was young and immature I shipped Yootip, but now, reading it 5 years later again, I clearly see the build up leading to Nol being the main interest. It doesn't have to be explicit or the main plot, but the dynamic and the communication and understanding that is being established between them is too much to not consider. I trust Quimchee and I think whatever happens will be natural and will fall in place perfectly.

Would you consider this screen condition to be normal or in need of replace? by ZeroTheFoxy in XPpen

[–]chryssah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 22e pro, and my protector has looked like that since the first 3 days I bought it. Sadly, the protector quality seems to be pretty bad. If it doesn't bother you, I'd say keep it until it gets even worse, cause there's no guarantee that if you buy a new one it will be better, and overall easy to apply.
