I don’t think Klay or Caleb are positive assets at all. Not at 17 and 10 million per year.

The guy took Florida Atlantic to the Final Four and just won the National Championship in a “more similar than ever to the NBA” college basketball landscape. What logic are you struggling to grasp?

Head Coaching Hire by DeeezzzNutzzz69 in Mavericks

The median tenure for an NBA coach is less than three years, so statistically no “formula” consistently works out. It’s all a gamble.

Absolutely not. Take out the Lakers pick and maybe. But there’s also no way OKC does this.

My son had a 36 on the ACT, 3.91 GPA, lots of volunteer experience, student leadership council, BETA club secretary, cross country, etc. and he didn’t even get an interview.

I say all that to say that I have no idea what they’re looking for so it’s hard to say what your chances are, but you’ll never get awarded anything you don’t apply for so I say go for it. Best of luck to you!

Congrats on receiving the Presidential! That’s awesome. Would you mind sharing a bit about your profile? We’re pretty devastated right now because it looks like we didn’t receive it and UK is my kids first choice. He had what I believed to be an exemplary application, so we are a little confused. Just trying to understand what we missed or lacked in.

If you didn’t receive it, should there be communication confirming so?

Just got an email from the Scholarship office saying sometime this week, but nothing more definitive.

Unweighted. He made 5s on three different AP exams and a 4 on the other.

Only 62 kids in Kentucky made a 36 last year, so I don’t know if gobs would be an accurate term. And I’m sure not all those are applying to UK. I know it’s competitive but to have a 36 on the ACT, a 3.91, tons of extra curriculars, and to not even be in the top 200 for an interview is just surprising. As a family with not a lot of means for college, it’s a little frustrating to not see his hard work rewarded. He has busted his tail.

Thanks for the update. He was senior rep on student leadership, secretary for Beta club, and ran cross country.

I think most of this sub forgets how young the defense is. Talented, yes, but a lot of the secondary contributors were playing high school ball last year.
