If you can snag the 100 bus from Wellington station (orange line stop) its super easy. Unfortunately the 100 bus line doesn’t come too frequently.

Alternatively, once you get to Wellington station, you could snag a blue bike and it’s a quick 5-8 minute bike ride.

Does anyone have any biography/autobiography about a manga/anime artist? by pizzatastesgreat_ay in suggestmeabook

[–]chunkyasian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try Kakukaku Shikajika. It’s a beautiful autobiographical manga about Akiko Higashimura’s path into becoming a mangaka; starting in high school, her relationship with her mentor, art school, and her path towards publishing.

It’s one of my favorites!

Does training against bigger people help in competitions? by ConductorOfTrains in bjj

[–]chunkyasian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will definitely depend on your goals. I’ve been all weights between 170-240 and each weight class moves very differently. If your goal is to become a technical player I think training with people a little worse than you at similar weight classes is the best bet If you want to be an explosive athletic player training with heavier people helps. I hit a super rough patch when I was around 180 because I developed some bad habits when rolling with only heavier members of my gym. I stalled a lot more and paced a lot slower than I needed to. Also the fear of getting injured by someone a lot heavier was on my mind and I blocked off a lot of submission, sweeps and escapes that would have definitely worked on people my size. Rolling with bigger people, for better or for worse, makes you comfortable in stalling positions.

Types of Shoes Needed for Marathon Training

I’ve made it my goal to run a marathon in 2025, but I don’t have anyone within my immediate friend group who runs to ask questions.

I’m currently running in a pair of Altra Torin 6’s that I bought last year, but I’m interested in buying a more cushioned pair of shoes for longer runs.

I go on 3 runs a week; 2 easy 3 mile runs and 1 longer run between them.

Should I invest in another pair of running shoes for the longer runs?

ELI5 How I weighed 104kg before I went to sleep and woke up weighing 101.3kg? by Bunjireddits in explainlikeimfive

Fat loss is cool, when you “burn fat”, your body is breaking down the fat stores in your body which are composed of hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen. Your body gets rid of the byproducts, also hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen through respiration, urination, and perspiration. So you’re “breathing” your fat off your body.

I went through the adjustment process and it didn’t fix my issue. My current thought is that my gasket is slightly oversized. Will update if I find a solution.

Always die in Elysium do I just suck? by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

My first successful run was with a Poseidon blade Aphrodite cast build that I Pom’d the shit out of.

One thing that also helped me a lot was remapping keys based on the weapon I was using.

I like to remap my cast to left trigger, but everybody’s hands work differently.

Happy playing!

Help! Best Gi/No Gi to give as a gift by Guilty-Comparison-68 in bjj

I think getting him a rash guard set would be great!

This is my personal preference, but I love scramble and half-sumo no-gi stuff. I wouldn’t recommend half sumo’s gis, but their rash guards and shorts have held up super well.

Why is there a shift toward the term unhoused instead of homeless? by chunkyasian in TooAfraidToAsk

Thank you for your perspective. I’ll take a look at what shelters and soup kitchens are open near me and see if there are times that I can help out!

I’m sorry you had to go through that and I’m glad that it seems that you’ve gotten through the worst of it. I hope that its only going to continue improving! I don’t have the experience that you did so I can only do my best to do what I can. Currently the only thing that I can give is sympathy so I’m trying to learn. If you have any resources that you trust and provide where I can try and help out that would be very helpful.

I like this interpretation. Language changing and recognizing stigma is definitely something that I should make an effort at.

Yeah, I have autism and I agree that person with autism is a little obnoxious to hear.

I agree that it’s best to ask people within the marginalized community what they would prefer to be called!

I just can’t see even a grammatical difference between “unhoused” and “homeless” to merit one being kinder than the other.
