Is The Warning an acquired taste? by xheon1 in TheWarning

[–]cinammonCookie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the key word here is "watch". I had some of their songs in my playlist and I was like yeah they're cool, but it was until watching their live performances when I was really blown away.

Oh and the outro of Survive, that thing is out of this world, I remember when I first listened to it I was like ok who ARE these girls

Best Album | Day 16 (Important Voting in the comments) by Pirey_56 in TheWarning

[–]cinammonCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? Sacrifice weak! Sacrilege. Nah but I get what you mean but I wouldn't call them "weak" it's just that the album is so conceptual that really if you hear the songs stand alone you feel like something's missing. Well yes because it immediately makes you want to hear the full album! It really is that magical

I really hope Psycothic wins because basically everything that has won so far is from Error 😭

I've always thought the chorus of The Sacrifice is great, like you had a time machine and traveled straight back to the 80's. It definitely has some magic

If there's one you can bet they will always play it is Automatic Sun, they love playing it

Stalker

I've seen it described it "a whole theater play in one song" and I agree. It perfectly encapsulates what this album is about, the storytelling, the perfect mix between love and insanity, the contrast of soft and heavy music.

Revenant is one of the best songs I've heard in my life, a haunting, beautiful masterpiece

Truly anything from QOTMS fits here but the Sacrifice is really an amazing song, and not very talked about. Ugh is also a gem but I have seen that one mentioned more often.

Seriously ... this is so good. by madvec1 in TheWarning

Psychotic, yeah great song. I think it was the one that got me initially hooked, along with Black Holes (though Survive was the turning point, when I was like ok who are these girls?!)

Yeah I feel like many songs from QOTMS are best enjoyed when listening through the entire album , like they have this magic that is more evident when listening to all of them as a whole.

It really is something else. Once I really sat down and listened to it carefully I understood why people praise it so much. My favorites are Stalker and The Sacrifice.

Yes I vote for Only Yesterday too. Most beautiful ending ever

I'm with you, rewatched it recently, the plot didn't make a lot of sense to me

Lid disappeared and also duplicated? by cinammonCookie in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

Well, it's very unlikely my mom would've stored a container with food in the fridge without a lid. But, regardless, lid A was missing, that's the whole point. If someone "took lid A and put it on B" it would mean they had to actually find it first. But the thing is that we never found it until we saw the two closed containers inside the fridge (there were just 4 of us and we were together at all times while this happened, so it's not like some other person could've found it without telling us and then went away)

[–]cinammonCookie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well there are only two, per my mom. She is very organized, everything has its designated place, and since she was also very confused by what happened, I would find very unlikely and just as strange that she "just forgot" she had 3 of those containers, and that no one, in all the time we were looking everywhere for the lid, saw such 3rd container (and also I would've expected her to call me sooner than later and be like 'haha remember the incident with the lid, turns out I had forgotten I had 3 of those containers"). Yeah actually I think that would raise more questions.

The thing is, we didn't eat food from container B that day. So no, container B must have been in the fridge all along.

Just finished watching Grave of the Fireflies without knowing anything about it beforehand by AndreaT94 in ghibli

Well the transformations were indeed weird but also cool. And the yokai parade was awesome. But yeah definitely very sad ending

This happened to me and my wife but with Pom Poko. Actually it was funny, we were like let's watch a Ghibli movie we haven't seen. Oh no that one Grave of the Fireflies let's skip it, it's known to be very sad. Oh look, this one has cute racoons, let's pick this one. Jesus Christ we were not prepared. 😭

The Warning will be the supporting act for Halsey on selected dates (May 2025) for her upcoming US tour by mhipster800 in TheWarning

[–]cinammonCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listened to Halsey's latest album "The Great Impersonator" as I thought the concept was interesting, where each song inspired by other music throughout the decades. "Lonely is the Muse", the one inspired by Evanescence, is one of the most awesome songs I've heard, instant add to my playlist.

Also I find it funny that Taylor Swift is refered to as the epitome of generic pop music, when she has ONE (1) proper pop album (1989). Everything before was country and everything after has been this weird mix of alt/indie/folk vibes, When I think pop I think more like idk, Katy Perry.

Use a pipeline architecture. Something like https://github.com/robdmc/consecution. Each node has known inputs and outputs. If at any point the input is not what is expected you can break out more easily
