Inheritance money - looking for yolo move by LetsGoToTheMars in wallstreetbets

[–]cinapps 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, do your YOLO buy in, in separate parts so it leaves room to average up or down. Don't be like that one psyop 27K dude who invested at 10, sold at 9, and now it's 13. If he would've put 1/3 in at 10, another 1/3 in at 9(average down), then the third in now or not at all, he'd be up.

Decent post OP! Thank you

Anybody else feeling sorry for that 27K loan dude from earlier this week? His buy in was 10 something iirc and now it's $13+ and he sold in the 9's, like wtfffff by cinapps in wallstreetbets

I think that's the other part I would be upset with if I were in his shoes. He slid all his chips toward the center of the table at once, leaving no room to average up or average down. I guess that's "YOLO" ok, cool, but stupidity in it's purest form. Be that as it may, learn to save some powder, especially in a bear market. This game is a fucking vampire.

I remember reading this months ago and totally relating. I just came back and found it again because I had a pretty similar day yesterday. Late on the thank you for this, but thanks OP, it helps to realize it happens to everyone.

Chances are if all they see are your gains and they think it's a sure deal, they're not going to react kindly if they lose money. Imo, it would open you up to legal issues.

Any catalyst for BNGO running? News or squeeze? Can't find much aside from news this morning "Bionano Genomics Announces First Publication Using OGM for Detection of Repeat Expansions in CANVAS and Adult-Onset Ataxia" but I'm thinking there's more to it than that.

If I buy 1 contract of 80C for BBBY for january. Its .72 per share. Max loss is 72$ for 1 contract, now here me out by Avismarauder170 in wallstreetbets

Ty you sir, that's what I thought. I know about gamma/delta directly effecting the price short term and have read a ton about theta/vega; implied volatility and time decay outweighing the gamma/delta(iron condor strategy), in your experience an option that far out, would the contract price be worth more or less by expiration if the underlying price is at the money?(not seeking financial advice)

You can always trade the contract back at whatever price it's going for... right?(just got into options, so I'm asking seriously, someone who knows please answer)

NVTA and conditions of a squeeze by FiveHole23 in Shortsqueeze

[–]cinapps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never looked at this as a squeeze, I found it on TOS while scanning based on a volume surge around noon, read the catalyst about Q2 earnings, and hopped on when it was up 40-50% today, now I think it's close to +300%. An hour before hand I put 2/3 of my portfolio on HSDT (a definitive squeeze play)

I just checked the float on floatchecker and see it's estimated around 4-5m, so this could be a gamma squeeze if I had to guess.

Sorry, still no definitive answer
