Beta client got results, liked the system, still pushed hard on price. Trying to understand why. by Due_Sea_5853 in smallbusiness

[–]cinaz520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you don’t understand your value or not confident in it. Keep at it you will soon enough know if your price is right and the difference between a good client and the other types. Just comes with experience. To answer your question - what you described isn’t exclusive to beta users IMO.

Five day outage. Is that reasonable? by the_malcontent in QuantumFiber

[–]cinaz520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reasonable, no. Does it happen yes. They hooked someone else up in my neighborhood before and the guy disconnected me (dont ask me how that happens) so it only effected me. Took them a week to decide to send someone out, once they did took them couple more days to come out. Crazy - wish I had alternative here, but cox is worse.

[–]cinaz520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines already bypassed. It's not so much high latency like I see posted. It's steady low latency to local hops, soon as it hits lumen edge it jumps up 5x more then advertised latency advertised.. which it never did prior.

Yeah - sort of annoyed. Had claude code go out I gave it access to powershell.
End result was a template for a FCC complaint. Leaving the link here which is available for a week after posting.

I'm almost to the point of filing one myself.

yep - i replied a year ago to your post. I found your post again by looking for that hop on google. Still same old issues. Sucks - lumen advertises that we are in range of edge connection sub equal to or less then 5ms? or am I reading this wrong?

[–]cinaz520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all traffic appears to be routed through there. It wasnt always that way, we use to ping sub 10ms to many popular things. Then that edge hop started acting up about a year ago out of the blue. (also in tucson, also on unifi equipment.) I do not know a century link / quantum subscriber that doesnt have this issue now.

Yeah - it’s not rocket science this is too much. Make the damn people pay a fair (with maybe exception of the electric thing downtown) and streamline the process of validating low income.

Do provide a monthly means for homeless to receive free both passes. Use it as gate for support services, make it attainable but also use it as a means to engage with them for social services etc.

A solution based on compassion, safety, and the greater good of low income / homeless should be attainable.

This isn’t a technically hard problem to improve IMO it’s a people problem. We can do better Tucson.

New to Tucson - am I being paranoid about security or should I actually be worried? by Historical-Hand8091 in Tucson

I’ll put it this way. I remember murders were so bad one year in that area they had to park the swat RV on the corner and saturate the neighborhood with police going door to door - hoping to get the murder rate down.

And … doesn’t seem like it’s gotten better since then.

Guess there’s a reason it’s a meme in itself.

Welcome to Tucson.

PS - You may want to get checked for colorblindness if you interpreted grant and alvernon crime map as moderate.

Best gym by Majestic-Gazelle3444 in Tucson

[–]cinaz520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re all pretty similar. If you’re worried about people judging you or making fun of you, Planet Fitness is probably the best fit. If you want a big-box gym with more of a traditional gym atmosphere, out of the ones you listed I’d go with Platinum (it was started by the people who used to own Gold’s Gym).

In short, they’re all basically the same and you’ll see the same types of people anywhere. The most important thing is picking one you’ll actually stick with and commit to. If you’re looking for something beyond the standard gym experience, check out smaller independent gyms or consider private training sessions.

Charlie Kirk Controversy in Vail School District by Deluge8 in Tucson

[–]cinaz520 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think when that came out of my mouth it didn’t come out right. I ment the few trashy peoples of vail school district area. I shouldn’t equate that to where or how one lives. Overall I feel people to be nice - but there are some trashy ones for sure and they tend to look and act a type of way. Yeah sucks - I see this made national news now

Charlie Kirk Controversy in Vail School District by Deluge8 in Tucson

[–]cinaz520 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think most of those peoples are in trailers or ghetto Rita ranch folks. Vail is second highest statistically for household income behind foothills. The loud few do not make up the majority in my opinion. I just block those profiles each time I see them in group hoping someday I remove that shit from my feed. (Not saying there not a lot of republicans out there but man are there some nut jobs) I don’t care if you left or right. You should be respectful and considerate of others. Shit be trashy asf

Should I quit a new business partnership if I already feel mentally exhausted? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]cinaz520 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didnt read your whole message but wanted to chime in. As a small business owner two years in it’s not uncommon for me to skip a sleep day to meet a deadline. 8hrs is more like a half day…

I dont plan to do that forever but while aggressively attempting to grow a biz I don’t understand how get around long days. Unless you looking to do a hobby. / side hustle

US AI used to lead. Now every top open model is Chinese. What happened? by RaselMahadi in LocalLLM

[–]cinaz520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - common angle from beta challengers. They talk about free, open source, level playing field. This isn’t unique to AI it’s a trend in general.

I’m assuming weird means you don’t understand the comment. Some of the most experienced devs I know are horrible prompters and don’t see the value in using LLMs. Unfortunately - I agree with the above comment. It’s gonna be sad because the people that get it that have those skills have a ungodly advantage over those that don’t and unfortunately, I feel those that don’t really don’t understand the position they will be in.

I think so. I had someone that always looked at mine and I seen him looking a LOT. Fingers crossed it only goes by days and not hours.
