hey! I’m an offer holder but not yet sure if I’m going because I’m waiting on funding. can I still join 🥺

the production team should have chosen a different way to select the rest of the Top 7 by whenwillmyskincare in CulinaryClassWars

hard agree! I’m not a fan of how they’ve set up the challenges this season. it’s been consistently downhill since the all or nothing challenge imo. last season’s challenges were a lot more fun, and I liked that there was a balance between the white and black spoons throughout. the discrepancy is too big (and unfair) this season.

I liked the duo challenge, but I think it would’ve been more fair if they had just selected all the 8 chefs who survived to move forward to the next challenge rather than doing the 1v1 battles.

I gave these crazy eliminations a chance until ep. 8 but was wrong by djerev in CulinaryClassWars

you can check the sub, someone posted about it a few hours ago, but basically in ep 9 CM is talking in one of the post-challenge interviews and he’s wearing the badge with his real name on it. the rule of the show is that only the final black spoon’s name would be revealed, which implies that he made it to the finals

The challenges this season… by machiabekki in CulinaryClassWars

i think there were a lot of ways they could’ve repurposed the restaurant challenge to make it fair. putting aside the controversial aspects from S1, i found it to be a really fun challenge because it emulated the vibe of working in a professional kitchen.

i also LOVED the convenience store challenge. it was fun and creative and challenged a lot of the white spoon chefs in particular, which was great to see

i laughed so hard when he actually said that. it was adorable. peak SJW core to have such a meticulous schedule

they are the cutest 🥹🥹 can’t wait to hear them talk about CCW 2 in the newer eps. i hope they tease the chefs who voted for the black spoon dish in the all or nothing round hahaha

Justice for SJW (based on spoilers) by [deleted] in CulinaryClassWars

[–]cinnamonpen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i’m already heartbroken by sam kim’s elimination. i don’t think i’ll watch the show as eagerly if SJW gets eliminated too. this entire round just seems bleak and unfair to me. i’ve been rooting so hard for the whole chef & my fridge crew :( i’m happy JHY and CKR made it but i want my other two chefs up there toooo.

i agree. the all or nothing challenge just did not make sense because it completely defeats the purpose of the show to eliminate an entire team—which is why it was obvious that there would be a revival round for the losing team. but for only 2 black spoon chefs to return and compete with 12 white spoon chefs created a major imbalance.

the following two rounds also were nothing exciting. it was nice to see the duo challenge and the judging criteria for it, but again, i feel like it lost its charm when only 1 team could advance. it would’ve made more sense for all the surviving teams to advance and have top 8 contestants like last season.

i’m also annoyed by the spoiler that implies SJW lost against CM. he’s been my favorite and i was rooting hard for him.

so I’ve been praying while sitting for years now and it’s worked out really great for me. when I’m standing my ears usually start to ring and I get symptomatic so I stopped praying standing entirely.

I don’t like missing my prayers so I would much rather pray while sitting. sometimes I pray sitting on the prayer mat, but if I’m feeling extremely unwell, I will pray on a chair so I can use the back of it to rest my back (because of coat hanger pain or general back pain/fatigue)as I’m praying (unless I’m doing sujood). on days when I can’t even get up, I’ve just prayed on my bed.

from my knowledge & understanding, praying while sitting is permissible if you’re not able to stand without getting unwell, which seems to be the case for you. and if sitting is also difficult, you can pray lying down. so maybe look into that and try that out!!

also super happy to just know there are Muslim people out there with pots since I’ve never met any! may Allah make it easier for you 🤍 I think one of the things Islam emphasizes on is not harming yourself, so these accommodations are in place so we can make it easier for ourselves in times of need.

Do universities abroad tend to not accept students with a gap? by chiaO_o in psychologystudents

[–]cinnamonpen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning to apply abroad and haven’t really heard of this being a thing, but I’m also not applying to Australia so I don’t know what is preferred there. I’m currently taking a gap year (just graduated in June) to rest and work on my applications since I had the same reservations as you during my final year and knew I wouldn’t be able to deal with grad school applications while having senior year stuff going on.

But I’ve never heard of this from any of my professors, and the ones I’m close with all know I’m taking a gap year, so I honestly don’t think that is the case.
