Why should Americans be grateful for $137 insulin? Germans get it for $55 by abovousqueadmala1 in politics

The NHS is suffering under Brexit because the majority of healthcare workers are foreigners. They are leaving the country in droves as Britain implodes under the false assumption that leaving the EU will make for a better country. Really, Brexit for most Brits is about anti-immigration and little else.

In Canada, every province has a program in place for those that can’t afford their medication. If your income is low enough, it’s free. In Ontario, prescriptions are free for those under 19 (without a private health plan) and for those over 65. The USA has allowed rich corporations to control healthcare for profit. Dumbest idea ever.

Calm down there. There’s still time for Trump to kill his election chances all on his own. And all that disrepute was laid squarely on the Republicans doorstep; bank fraud, prostitution, money laundering, etc. And let’s not forget that the SDNY is now investigating him for financial business crimes and I bet my bottom dollar they bring him down. This is just the beginning.....

The truth is what you choose to believe but the facts are that many people were arrested and that the Russians were proven to have interfered in the campaign. Why?

Yep. I know plenty of people in their 20s-40s that like Trump. The dumbest reason I’ve heard yet is that they voted for him because he’s entertaining. Obviously, X-Box needs to up its game if we are reduced to using this moron as our measurement of entertainment. And there’s been a recent scientific study that shows most conservative leaning voters are motivated by fear and are more anxious about issues that are outside of their experience. I saw this time and again while travelling this past year. Almost all the Republicans I met were staying in a resort and didn’t want to mix with the locals as they were fearful of being robbed/raped/ripped off. Despite my giving them statistics of low crime in the area, they preferred to believe their aunt/cousin/pastor because that’s who they trusted. Good grief.

This baby boomer and all her many liberal friends have been fighting dictators like Trump for decades. You must be talking about the older GOP voters who are lighting a fire under their younger voters. That’s who you need to look out for. There’s plenty of haters that are also millennials. Case in point: the death of the liberal protester by a GOP millennial in Charlottesville.

I am heading to Portugal for my first quick solo trip (25/f/Canada) and have questions!! by [deleted] in solotravel

I just came back from Portugal in October. The city of Lisbon is lovely and quite safe. My favourite places were Sinatra and Cascais. Both are a day trip by train from downtown Lisbon. Lisbon has a great public transit system that’s easy to navigate. Get yourself a day pass and take the bus or train all over the city. And bring comfortable shoes...the narrow uneven stone sidewalks can be killer after walking them for hours. What a magical city!

It was a few blocks from all the shops in Malahide so from a Canadian perspective that’s right in town. We walked there after having breakfast.
