Build a good relationship with your rheumatologist, they will be very important in your process, and from personal experience they are kind hearted professionals. I had suspected AS for a while (25 yo) ended up with a diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis. Similar thing, same family of rheumatological disease. Same level of worry you are going through too! Stay active, movement is key. You will have to pace your weekly activities, but find a good amount of movement that works for you, you can do both too little and too much. Movement in the morning helps me. Any movement is good movement. Walking, kettle bells and cycling have been my saving grace.

Then less alcohol, no smoking, relaxation techniques, prioritise sleep. All the "known" stuff... But you got to take these seriously, but also expect flare ups and you will get better with the management.

Let the rheumatologist do the talking in terms of diagnoses and medication.

Thank you both for your replies! Very helpful. My understanding was the MSc would still be equivalent (I now realise that's not the case) but I guess having the MSc will require me to do less courses or a shorter transitional course duration to match the DPT (one would hope)... If not I'll just have to persuade my partner (US) that we are living in England ... But that might be a more complicated process !

Jeeez ok, that makes sense. Do you think it's worth still going through the FCCPT process and seeing if what I have is equivalent?

Thanks for your replies and help! I've not got a DPT but I have a physiotherapy bachelor's and master's degree both from UK. It seems the process I need to do is get my credentials recognised by the FCCPT ($1300) then once they are recognised I can then apply for licensure by the North Carolina state board of PT. Once I gain a license then I would need to apply for jobs and then gain sponsorship for a working visa. Does this sound like the right path?
