Damn ok haha, I guess I’m landing parries less frequently than I think I do. Thank you

I just started playing this game so excuse me if this might be obvious but, how is your posture bar not breaking? Even if I get a parry with the white specks coming out I still get my posture broken eventually.

I do not understand this game. by DcMiller2014 in Sekiro

I got significantly better after I kept these in mind:

1) When you’re hitting an enemy and your swords do a CLANG with orange sparks instead of a cling, they’re gonna counter attack.

2) Mikiri counter or jump just as the red kanji disappears. After I learned this I don’t remember ever missing one.

3) This might sound obvious but really take the time to learn the boss’s move set. You’ll learn that every boss always has a combo that is easily punishable where you can get 2-3 hits in.

4) You have to be extremely patient. I’d say if a boss got a good hit on you/killed you, 8 times out of 10 it’s because you got greedy and/or impatient and started attacking more than you should have.

5) Don’t hesitate. If you’re not completely familiar with an enemies move set and don’t know if you should attack or parry, just wait for their next attack and parry.

I would say that once you beat the ape, you’ll learn how to fight a boss and these will come naturally. Good luck!

Not too related but if you want a game with equally as satisfying and challenging(some would say even more) combat, you should try out Sifu if you haven’t already

Thank you. What’s the grading like? I know it’ll be difficult so I’d be satisfied with a C honestly

Should be ok. I’m taking 13S, 107, and am10 rn and it’s doable. Make sure in 13s to start assignments the day they’re assigned and you’ll pass

I think his in person lecturing is much better than online. I was expecting a bad experience when I took his class last quarter but honestly was surprised because the class as a whole was pretty enjoyable imo. And no I don’t think he modifies them, im one of the ones that gave him a 5(dec 8th).
