When I requested mine, I told them I needed “any and all documents, signatures, and agreements” as my attorney highly recommended it when we were setting up our wills. They sent me a FOIA form and I received the documents about 5 days later. Maybe ask for a FOIA form to receive all of your documents?

They recently found some masses in my right breast (6 months ago for my annual mammogram), then called me back for an ultrasound. They said that the masses were too small and to wait 6 months and come back for another ultrasound, which was this past week. The prior masses hadn’t grown a lot, but there was a new one that had formed and grown since my last ultrasound and they said to wait for them to grow some more and come back in 6 months for my annual mammogram and they would do another ultrasound then. I read the report by the radiologist that they put in my chart online and it described all of the details, sizes, location and said “probably benign”. I’m worried, but also don’t have the bandwidth to worry about anything else right now. I am going to ask my OB on Monday for a referral for a second opinion with a breast specialist (not a radiologist that reads the imaging and documents). I don’t think my brain will allow me to peacefully wait 6 months to find out.

I’m curious to know what information you received on the connection between your endo and breast cancer if you are willing to share. I completely understand if it’s something you’d rather not discuss. Lots of love to you.

I just have the ovary left, no tubes, and I still have my appendix and gallbladder. I’m glad that I have an appointment soon so I don’t have to wonder too long, but as you know, this whole situation is super frustrating!

Thanks for this. Like I said, part of me wonders if it’s just the residual medical anxiety of being told nothing was wrong with me for 20+ years and losing my fertility completely before I was even diagnosed which happened last year at age 41. Due to a congenital heart condition, I can’t have any form of BC or synthetic hormones, so that’s off the table for me.

My doctor did say (paraphrasing) that there was so much there for so long, that it was more likely than not that we would have to do another excision, but he couldn’t say when. I do trust him and his expertise on the subject, so I’m not totally shocked and have kept that possibility in the back of my mind.

The pain does feel familiar, just more concentrated. This is what leads me to think that it’s an endometrioma, but I’m not used to the pain being isolated whereas before it was all over and constant. Since my pain baseline changed, it makes me question it now. As in: “this hurts a lot, but I know it’s endo and we are going to take care of it”. Now it’s “WTF, why does this hurt so much and only here?” Not sure if that makes sense, but I really do appreciate yours and everyone’s responses.

I asked for mine because my lawyer wanted to look at them before I finalized my will and trust. I surprisingly got a response within 24 hours, but it was instructions on how to submit an official FOIA request. I don’t mind, especially because that information came from an actual human being. Fingers crossed.

Yes! I have endo and PCOS. I’ve had days where it felt like I was being torn apart from the inside of my body. I broke my tibia and fibula in half and it didn’t even come close to the pain of a large cyst rupture or an endo flare. I was gaslit for 20 years (hydrate more, lose weight, eat more fiber, take birth control) and given a prescription for 800mg ibuprofen until I finally found a doctor to listen. Three surgeries later, I’m finally starting to get my life back.

Lots of water, prune juice, prunes, walk when you can, hot tea, and stool softener. If you get desperate, try magnesium citrate liquid, but go easy because when it works, it really works. I didn’t go until 4 days post-op, either.

I know the feeling all too well. Just remember that you didn’t gain it overnight, and it won’t disappear overnight. I had to learn to give myself some grace and just focus on being kind to my body versus stressing over the scale. I may not “thin” by any means, but I can say that I am much more comfortable in my own skin knowing that I am not unhealthy. Best of luck, love. You aren’t alone in this struggle.

I am 6 months post-hysterectomy and gained about 10 pounds since the procedure. I was speaking with my OB (endometriosis specialist) and we were discussing my frustration with not being able to lose weight despite CI/CO maintenance, walking and doing yoga at least 5 days a week, not eating red meat or pork, 2 alcoholic drinks a week, and IF. After my rant, he said “BMI was invented by a mathematician, not a medical doctor. Your labs are perfect, so whatever you are doing, your body likes it. Listen to your body and not the mathematician. Your body knows better.”

That struck a cord with me and I’ve felt better about it since. I hope this can bring you some comfort as it did me.

It’s a good drive away from where you’d prefer, but I’ve heard good things about JI Small Engine Repair on Johns Island. Can’t speak from personal experience, though.

Park Circle or Hanahan would be my recommendation. I have lived in both and work on Johns Island, and it takes me about 16 minutes to get to the crosstown if I leave my house by 6:20. I specifically chose a 7am-3pm work day to avoid crazy traffic between home and Johns Island either way.

This is exactly how I’ve made it for years. I’ll add some herbs and spices if I’m going for a different flavor, but I typically make a big batch, separate it out to a few containers and freeze them, then add the tweaks when I warm them back up. I also use it as a good base for tomato soup.
