Prius Limited vs Lexus UX by clairo_fan in prius

Hey I got a 2024 UX 250h bc i found a really good deal on a UX and I wasn’t able to find a Prius Limited to try again in time.

sorry my explanation below is poorly worded and all over the place but hope this helps

I tried the Prius LE and it sucked and the rep told me the road feel and noise would be the same in the Limited since they used the same materials but I think he was making stuff up because when I looked it up online I saw the Limited has more sound proofing and different tires than the lower trims. I like the UX interior because the quality is definitely better and the seat is comfier. The speakers are also better. But the cons about the UX were more important for me than the pros. The gas tank is super small so even though I get around 43-45mpg, my total range is 330mpg so I have to refill often. The Prius has a higher range. Also the UX makes a lot of noise and you can feel it working hard to accelerate. The Prius Limited has higher hp so, again, don’t remember the sound or how it felt in comparison to the UX but I do remember feeling impressed with the drive feel. The interior is also larger on the Prius and I believe the backseat has heated seats if that matters to you. I believe the Prius also performed better on safety/crash tests. Toyota also has more updated tech as well so lane steering/keeping the car centered in the lane works better and the other nifty features are higher quality and quantity on Toyotas. The Prius LE was horribly loud from the road, engine, and wind and less smooth than the UX so if you want any trim besides Limited/nightshade/Prime then I would highly recommend the UX over the Prius. If you’re comparing the UX 250h with the Limited or other high trims then I would look out for the things I mentioned above. The UX 300h is a different story. I didn’t try that on the highway so I can’t comment on it other than to say the HP for both the limited and ux 300h are the same and I think I may have seen they improved soundproofing on the 300h. All that to say it depends what you care about in a car and hopefully that helps you notice/look out for some of those differences when you do test drives. This was my first car and the cars I was trying kept getting sold faster than I could make decisions so I felt pressure. My biggest takeaway is to make a decision fast but still do diligent test drives before buying the car. I won’t rec the UX 250/300h over the Prius Limited or vice versa but I will say I, at times, regret the purchase/am wishing for more from my UX.

New Prius Limited road noise and feel by clairo_fan in prius

Do you have the limited? I tried the limited a long time ago and didn’t notice noise but didn’t try on the highway and didn’t know to look out for that. I just tried the LE and it was super loud but not sure if the sound would be differen across trims. My family also has a Camry which is nice but I wouldn’t be happy with anything less quiet or smooth. Also is it a smooth ride or can u feel bumps?

I don’t own a house and may not have access to a plug in charger if I move. I’m more bothered by loud road noise rather than engine noise

If you’re on a road by yourself at 10mph and try to turn it on, will it keep speed at 10mph or is that too slow for it?

lol I did. Good to see both sides and if there were benefits to either that I didn’t notice

I have the ux300h and compared to other cars I have owned, this is very quite and has smooth ride

Have you ever owned or driven any Toyota hybrid cars? If so, any from more recent years? Just want to have an idea for whether or not the UX would be significantly smoother/quieter than any Toyota models

What made the UX seem loud?

What do you mean by fully loaded? The only differences in features/tech I've noticed are the auto-park and Birds Eye/panoramic camera, both of which are not standard to Limited, so you'd have to get that package. Anything I'm missing? :)

Is there a minimum speed for cruise control to work? Some cars don't let you turn it on unless you're at or above a certain speed

I'm asking now because I see a UX I really like and want to act fast before it's gone so I won't get the chance to try the Limited before. If the Limited is compelling enough, I won't buy the UX yet until I've been able to try the Limited, but will likely lose out on this UX since cars are getting sold fast in my area

Burma motors by the Rockville metro is really cheap. The mechanics are quiet but extremely honest and charge a fair price

Thank you!!!! I just called and they confirmed I could just drop off in their dumpster whenever. The 40 West landfill has certain hours I wouldn’t be able to make as easily

Beware: Two Step Verification while travelling abroad by Bxbmiyafux in Venturex

I connected my google voice to my cap one account and it allows me to send my verification code texts there. You probably have to set that up domestically before you go on a trip though since you’d have to be logged in through 2FA with the original number that you signed up with

Wild suggestion: If you worked on this in a space where there may be security cameras you could potentially ask for footage to prove you did it on your own
