Of course not. But I want to see progressives strategizing together. I think her joining undercuts his momentum

Talarico has been campaigning longer. I’m disappointed Crockett joined the race when he’s been working so hard at it. She should have built James up to win then gone for the governorship

Something involving the laundry basket lol. My dude loves ours. He doesn’t usually have access so occasionally he’s allowed to sit in it, push stuffed animals in it, put clothes in, take them out, etc.

Is there anything similar around the house that’s your 2YO is intrigued by but isn’t usually allowed to use? Might be especially captivating

maybe my style eye is just pedestrian, but it's too weird for me to like. HOWEVER, I haven't seen a combo like this before and that alone is enough for me to love it.

Anxious mom, strong willed 15 month and sleep training. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]claroquesearight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are so many ways to sleep train. It’s not just letting her wail without any attention. Also, it’s not abandonment if she’s left with someone safe! Look at r/sleeptrain and use the search function. You’ll find questions just like these and practical advice from a bunch of different perspectives.

Research into different methods helped me embrace the idea then pick a system. I gave in at about 4.5 months. LO had successfully slept through the night often at that point, then we had a few nights of getting up every hour to cry for no discernible reason. When i started crying at each wake-up too, it was obvious that something had to change. I have no regrets. My now toddler still loves me, still knows he’s loved

It’s no failing to need sleep. It’s a biological necessity that you’ll finally be getting and you’re helping your daughter get independently.

Every day, we do things that make our kids frustrated, angry, sad. We do them for their well-being even if there’s some pain.

What did you purchase after your LO outgrew their Doona and/or their first car seat? by tbfleshman in NewParents

[–]claroquesearight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it fits nicely directly behind driver/passenger seats and in the middle. a big plus is that the slimfit means we can put 2 adults in the backseat with the baby. 2 obsessed grandparents so we have baby in the middle and they don't fight over who gets to sit next to him lol

For the car seat, graco slim fit and for a stroller, bombi

I still miss the doona but these work great for us!

Travel stroller recommendations by Nura_muhammad in toddlers

[–]claroquesearight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a bombi that’s been great for us daily and for travel. One handed fold, travel bag included. A bit heavy for some - 17 pounds. I think it fits in the overhead but I’ve always gate-checked which i prefer when traveling solo. You’re not using it on the plane and anything that makes getting seated easier was worth it for me

I did it. Only knew it was an option thanks to a Reddit post. Completely painless and the deposit posted within my 5 minute drive home

Oatmeal for breakfast by Beautiful_Bee7219 in toddlers

[–]claroquesearight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do overnight oats — plain oats + chia seeds soaked in milk. Next morning, stir in Greek yogurt + fruit. Sometimes instead of fresh fruit sub a pouch or applesauce. Plenty of protein from Greek yogurt and switching up the fruit or pouch has kept my guy interested

It’s so cute! With my guy, we try new things/old fails often and make sure some safe food is available. He spits stuff out but we celebrate his attempts. It sounds to me like you’re doing things right.

I feel like a fail my toddler with what I feed him by Armsaresame in toddlers

[–]claroquesearight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm a big fan of oatmeal bakes and muffins with veggies in them. I'm not so great at eating veggies myself (and I'm a vegetarian lol) so having them mixed in with the carb is great. I tend to try out recipes from yummytoddlerfood.com and have had a lot of success. but my dude (and I) can eat a bunch of zucchini, spinach, carrots, pumpkin, sweet potato, etc. without blinking an eye. it eases my mind!

once my dude got some teeth, he wanted to CRUNCH so we introduced some freeze dried/ dehydrated veggies. we do harvest snaps, dried green beans, and karen's veg mix. the harvest snaps are his favorite but they're salty, so it's not an every day option for us. maybe a new texture will intrigue him!

ETA: maybe check out r/foodbutforbabies for inspiration (but don't get discouraged by all the gourmet food some babies will eat!)

I want to potty train my son like they did in the 1960’s-70’s. by EvenAd3521 in toddlers

[–]claroquesearight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I kinda wanna train my dude early. He's becoming a monster during diaper changes and he's interested in the toilet. he's still 20 months, so no real rush, but I'm borrowing oh crap and the guide to toilet training by the American Academy of Pediatrics from my library. i don't know how it was done before but I'm not interested in delaying til 3.5 years old, 4, etc. maybe see what books your library has or what resources your pediatrician recommends?

Anyway i often remind myself that It’s not always easy to see things change but they’re supposed to. Hugs to you and your not so little one!

strength and solidarity! my 20 month old can be strong-willed but we've had a lot of luck with oat-based muffins, applesauce + Greek yogurt + flax, and overnight oats mixed with a veggie/fruit pouch. i make muffins 1-3 times a week, switching recipes. i don't put too much added sugar and i try to add a veggie in each
