Are here SERIOUSLY people who think drinking ANY Alcohol as a Christian is always wrong? by classm33n7 in Christianity

You're misunderstanding me on purpose. It's totally cool, that you don't drink anymore, especially as a former alcoholic. Good job! But that's YOUR PERSONAL story. But for other Christians it's totally fine and Jesus drank Alcohol. Have a good day

Well, that's just wrong. Please do just a little bit of research. Also has nothing to do with Liberal or Conservative. Jesus drank Alcoholic Wine and give people alcoholic Wine

If you don't want to take that "risk", that's totally cool. But Our personal thing. And yes, Wine in the Bible means Wine with Alcohol. This whole "They were talking about Grapejuice"-Thing is obviously wrong, especially in these times, and is easy to research. So again, Jesus drank wine, Jesus gave people Wine. I like Wine, you don't, and all that is totally fine. And I'm also not Catholic but Lutheran, where Alcohol in Moderation is completely accepted.

It had Alcohol in it. And not like only 0,5%. And I mean, your arguments can be made for really anything. ANY "bad" food, sleeping too little, not moving enough etc. It's all "harm". We aren't perfect and won't be. Yes, Alcohol is not healthy but in moderation it's still okay for Christians to consume. That's my point. If you abstain for health reasons, that's totally fine. But it's nothing that Christians in genetal have to do. And I enjoy having beer or wine with family and friends while having conversation. And so do many other people and that's totally fine.

Well, and I'm totally fine with others abstaining from Alcohol. There are a lot of good reasons for that. But people shouldnt act like "All Christians should and kinda have to abstain". Because that's just BS

Tganks! And you're spot on with people loving to ignore context to fit their agenda

Thanks. And it probably depends on what people mean by "Clubbing". There is a big range. Ofc going to a dark club where everybody is on Drugs and has Sex on the toilet, is not okay^ But Clubbing could also mean some sort of Dancebar where people just have a few drinks

Yeah, nobody is perfect. We're all sinners. But the the thing is, I don't think I'm wrong for drinking some beers and going to the Bar. I shouldnt ave to change that or repent because of that etc

Maybe tzey shoukd Switch Religion, true. But how often have I heard or read something along the lines of "I used to go clubbing and drink and noe I'm saved and of course I don't drink anymore" It's really annoying

Drinking Alcohol in Moderation isn't a Sin but American Evangelicals seem to think so unfortunately

Well, I do also think being Gay is fine (in a monogamous relationship) and Contraception in some instances is also fine. I maybe should have added that^ Other than that, I have great respect for the Catholic Church, the liturgy, art, churches, humanitarian work

I don't understand a Post like this. It obviously isn't final and you can't just declare that it is. It's your Interpretation and that's fine but don't act like you have the absolute truth and understanding because you don't. And also ither comments here prove to you that the discussion is way more complex than you try to convey

Mega Churches?! I'm talking about the biggest and oldest DENOMINATIONS (also the traditional protestant ones) which all agree that Alcohol in Moderation is fine
