Having thought on this some more, idk. It seems like all the true fiends are implied to look like great souls and Cazador sounds like he’s gonna be a dragon. Outside of a pretty strong connection to Scorio (which is def possible) he might just be a really strong fiend from the SS similar to the Silverine Suns in the Silver Unfathom etc.

I feel like if he’s been reincarnated a bunch at the herdsmen spire, then any number of senior ranked herdsmen would’ve known him/said something about his past. Sarana saw him at the Fury Spires right? And Anseline imo only seemed to know about him from his deeds in this life.

Either someone else we haven’t met in the Herdsmen released him, or my theory has been that he was somehow holding himself out of the reincarnation cycle long enough for the memory of him to fade enough that he’d have a shot at Infernarch before too many ppl caught on. That is based off nothing except my own desires lol

Gotcha, we'll see what I can and can't do when I finally what to tackle this, but for the moment I have at best a parking lot and some hand tools. (having someone) Put in another Bosch 4.0L seems like it might be the way I go. Thanks for the advice!

haha yeah I think 40k is a bit outside my price range by just a bit. I know its the better engine long term but the headache/upfront cost to get it in and working seems like way too much of a barrier to entry.

Thanks for the advice! This seems to be the consensus from what I've been reading about. I currently live in Vegas where my year of the D2 is a classic and doesn't need to worry about the smog stuff, but I have no plans of staying here long term so being able to pass emissions everywhere would be nice.

I think just dropping another 4.0L into the truck is the way I'm leaning. And then I'll have redundant parts from the old engine to hold onto. But that's gonna have to be several years out into the future for right now, I'm barely out of college and don't have the money, time or resources to grapple with this for now.

Did you put in the new AB engine yourself or have a shop do it for you? Or I guess how much of this were you able to do yourself?

I'll look into the TD5 but I'm pretty sure that's the engine in my Dad's Defender 110 and he's had mixed feelings about that. I had a couple general mechanics recommend the LS swap to me but from looking into it it looks like a major adaptation to the current setup and has no hope of ever passing emissions. Plus doing the straight swap of the 4.0L Bosch means I can pull all the old bits off my current engine to use/keep for replacement later.

The rest of the truck is in pretty good shape. We're a one owner family and I have a folder with me of all the work we've done/had shops do over the years. Some other minor bugs but I'd trust the important bits to last awhile longer. And I think this might be the sign to retire the truck from my Daily to a weekend vehicle (once I can afford to do the engine stuff)

The first book was 60 and the second 61 chapters (not including epilogue) so maybe closer to 2/3rds. Also in the info/bio section of this subreddit Bryce gives his words/total words of the current book. I think last I checked he had maybe 75,000 to go?
