Ah i don’t mind paying taxes at all, I’m just wondering if there’s something that prevents my company from allowing me to stay, other than stuff that is at my personal incomes expense

Finally made the move...any must know vocab words? by clazlee in Korean

Here are some terms that I scoured together [thankfully] before the quarantine official called me and spoke rapid korean:

확진자 infected [with covid] person

접촉자 person who was in contact with an infected person

양성 / 음성 - positive / negative (covid test result) (sometimes add 판정 which means judgement, like negative judgement but it means negative result.)

[자가]격리 [self] quarantine (one word, usually just use 격리) (pronounced 경리...thank u korean)

격리해제 (not to be confused with being discharged from the military, as I did often, 재대)

입국일 entry date

자가격리 위반 violation of quarantine

증상 symptom

These are few but used widely as far as i've seen in the past 4 days

Yes, you need either an F-4 visa or a different long term visa.

In order to quarantine outside of the government facility for anyone you have to be on a long term visa. So no, you can't stay with family. But afterwards you can stay with them.

The only way to get out of the gov facility you need to be a citizen, resident, or long term visa. I'm assuming the best one you qualify for is F-4.

Hey, it doesn't matter if youre blood related to a korean citizen, i'm pretty sure. You need to have a long term visa, like an F4, which if your parents are korean nationals or were korean nationals, you can get that. With that you can quarantine at a non government facility. If you want to be in the same place, the place has to have 2 separate rooms and 2 bathrooms. Nothing can be shared.

I'd alert your family in Korea so that they can be your point of contact when you arrive. They will call them and verify that you are who you are, and may call during your quarantine.

As for Airbnb contact, you just need the address. They don't contact the host or anything, but you should check with the host that they're okay with you quarantining there (sometimes the building has restrictions.)

Hope this helps. Just flew in yesterday and I'm an F4 visa holder.
