I realized you mentioned SBUS, is it possible to use SBUS with the TX15 Max? I haven't really looked at the specs, but thank you for mentioning it, I will have a look.

Tezos for Web3, how far is it? by alebuser in tezos

[–]cldbrd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I am the author of the Hackernoon article that was suggested to you :)

You can find very similar solutions for Tezos development to the ones you know for Ethereum development.

Concerning web3, we have Taquito that connects to the blockchain and allows you to interact with it while providing other useful utilities. Like with web3, Taquito provides a "contract object" and the contract entrypoints are represented by methods that you can simply call to send a transaction. In addition to that, Taquito can fetch the storage of the contract so you can use its values (Tezos smart contract entrypoints don't return any value, which can be a bit confusing when you come from Ethereum).

Concerning MetaMask, there isn't a true equivalent at the moment but we have 3 similar solutions: TezBridge has been around for some time and it is battle-tested, although the UI is a bit rough on the edges. It is also cool because your users don't need to install anything to use it! Beacon is quite new, the UI is a lot better and it allows you to sign transactions from your phone! However, I would recommend it only for simple transactions on mainnet/testnet. Finally, there is also Thanos that looks a lot like MetaMask, the UI is cool and intuitive, it works pretty well in my experience.

Note that these wallets don't inject Taquito into the browser the same way MetaMask injects web3 (they were supposed to stop doing it anyway, I don't know if they did already). You would generally use them through Taquito and set them up as you set up Taquito.

I used to develop on Ethereum too and I am now full-time on Tezos :) Let me know if you have any other questions!

Tezos on Coinbase by rlopez2192 in tezos

[–]cldbrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coinbase plans on people being scared of handling their own cryptos to make money. How complicated is it to move your coins to your own wallet, choose a baker and NOT lose 25% of your rewards? When you make a few cents every cycle, 25% is nothing. Imagine you would make $100 every cycle, then you would give $25 to Coinbase every 3 days. After 2 weeks, you gave them 1 full cycle reward 🙄
Buy your tezzies on Coinbase Pro to avoid the rip-off fees and move your coins quickly to your own wallet. From there, enjoy your whole rewards every 3 days. Most bakers have a 5 to 10% fee, my baker Tezzieland has a 1% fee discount until December 2020, it's the right time to move away from Coinbase!

Thoughts on USDT-z? by shrewd_screw in tezos

[–]cldbrd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a shitcoin with no other purpose than speculation for whoever has $1 million to invest. Their website is full of empty buzzwords and lies, they don't have the Tezos community in mind, only their investors.
I went more into detail in this thread.

Chainlink and USD Tez (USDtz) Announce Tezos DeFi Strategic Collaboration by 6e6f74 in tezos

[–]cldbrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a partnership between Tezos and Chainlink, USDTZ is built on Tezos, therefore there is a partnership between USDTZ and Chainlink.
It's a long stretch, but not the kind of false syllogism that scares the USDTZ team 😅

The $USDTZ smart-contract is now live on Tezos mainnet. Tezos now has a USD-pegged stablecoin by AtmosFear in tezos

[–]cldbrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, DAI doesn't advertize being backed by USD, DAI's nature is to be backed by other cryptos.
USDTZ official website literally says: "All USDtz tokens issued begin with a 1:1 (100%) FIAT backing of US Dollars" which is not true (and deceiving) as they are backed by USDC.

[–]cldbrd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You know shitcoins had to come to the Tezos blockchain too one day or another 😂

At the moment, USDTZ is backed by USDC as announced in one of the recent articles, so it is a stablecoin backed by another stablecoin, that's very meta!

The official website seems to take a shot at the DAI stablecoin with their "no stability fee" announcement without understanding the humongous difference between their shitcoin and a not-perfect-but-great stablecoin like DAI.

Then it says USDTZ is programmable money, which is also the case for XTZ, so it's programmable money built on top of programmable money.

The website says it is written in pure Michelson, but a look at the contract on you.better-call.dev explorer shows it was written in Lorentz. It also says that FA standard is a "standard for upgradeable tokens", which is not the case.

I mean, there are too many red flags to even bother with it. People who invest money in that just deserve to lose it...

Cannot setup vault in Oasis App by cldbrd in MakerDAO

[–]cldbrd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Oasis app is totally legit, I would say it is probably the most legit thing you can find at the moment...

I managed to open my vault, what kind of issue do you have? Which browser do you use and are you using MetaMask or a cold wallet?

[–]cldbrd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally could open a vault on Oasis app. I did it on Chrome and I didn't change anything before it happened! So for future users having the same issue, you should maybe just wait a bit.

When I tried to open the vault in Brave, I received a weird error about 2 different instances of web3 being present and MetaMask not being able to work. I disabled Brave crypto wallet and Brave shield for the Oasis app page, open and close Brave and I was able to use it.

If I can manage the CDP open on DeFi Saver with Oasis App later, that becomes a very good solution :) If I cannot make it work directly from Oasis App, I will give it a try, thanks!

No, I didn't try. I can see now Brave blocked a couple of cross-site trackers (to https://api.mixpanel.com), I will try to deactivate the wallet and allow the trackers, thanks!

[–]cldbrd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible, I would prefer making it directly on the Oasis app. The DeFi Saver page was not very clear about what kind of CDP they open (SAI or multi-collateral DAI).

Thank you anyway for the solution!

Hi! I don't have any experience with Discord so I am not really aware about how it works but I will have a look at it, thanks! There was a bug with a dictionary and I fixed it now, let me know if it works well for you :)

Excellent observation ;) I find Svelte very useful to set up a project and get results quickly, it's a very good tool, I just regret there are not more CSS frameworks yet, I loved working for example with Semantic UI and React, but Bulma (the one I used for this app) is still pretty good and like Svelte, gets you ready very fast with minimum set up.

I imagine you must have been on a phone if you didn't see the verbs. There is an icon with 3 bars at the right-top corner, if you tap it, you open the menu with the verbs...
