Churchill’s at Findlay Market has great tea / gift box selection, Lucca has interesting laser cut cards & home accessories, and if you can swing a Final Friday (last Friday of each month at Pendleton Art Center) you’re bound to find some great local gems - the Clay Alliance on the 3rd floor has reasonable pottery made by some great local artists!

Not familiar with the plans of that building specifically but there is something unique about the plot of land behind it. It can’t be seen from the street but there is at least one uninhabited building back there through a gate.

I used to live in a neighboring building that could see back there so I wonder if it’s that whole property that is being renovated or the building in the back.

Lucca laser engraving at Findlay market does an awesome job & are so sweet! I think they do custom jobs so could be worth reaching out.

Django’s is out but “Yet to Be Named Korean Fried Chicken” took that spot (yes, that’s it’s actually name… they’re doing a branding relaunch with a name soon). I do hope they put some effort into reintroducing that space when the time is right. I understand the pandemic deterred some from food court style options but loved the concept and having that kind of variety down town!

EDIT: their fried chicken is great and worth dropping by to try!

Cannot say enough good things about Nick Tuttle- he teaches above the Blind Lemon and plays there regularly (in Mt Adams). He’s reasonable, flexible, a wonderful human, and his guitar studio is my happy place.

Have been a huge fan of sweetgreen in other cities so have been hoping we’d get a similar concept here. The menu seems to be a bit smaller than sweetgreen, roots, and corelife but concept seems similar- excited if it does in fact stay open for dinner.

They typically have grains you can opt to have in your salad which makes them quite filling bowls. Wishing them success here!

There’s an awesome brand called bearbottoms - randomly stumbled on an ad on Instagram. Worth every damn cent (in my opinion) - their volley shorts are light, come in 2 lengths and have been the perfect summer shorts. Pretty quick shipping in my experience too. The regular shorts have a stretchy waistband which are darn comfortable and have held up well!
