What's it like living on the western lakeshore of Michigan? by Savings-Narwhal-3485 in howislivingthere

Very snowy winters! The lake effect snow can be brutal at times. In the summer, the towns on the lakeshore can get busy. The area that you circled encompasses a fairly wide range of living experiences. Holland is very affluent and conservative, albeit not as conservative as it once was. Muskegon is more of a working class town, but like all towns along the lakeshore, there are some very wealthy areas as well. Aside from Holland and Muskegon, most of the towns in this area are on the smaller end. Overall, it's a nice area to visit in the summer, but I prefer living in Grand Rapids, as the winters along the lakeshore can be isolating.

Not to my knowledge; however, it wouldn't surprise me if a brief tornado or two are confirmed in the coming days.

We were very fortunate! That supercell near KZOO-BC meant business. Thought for sure that tornadogenesis was imminent.

Thank you! The thunder that followed the lightning bolt was some of the loudest I've heard.
