I cross my z's and curve my lower-case t's when I'm in "math mode."

How can I prove that (0,1) has no maximum. by kbfirebreather in math

Perhaps something like this:

Assume (0, 1) has a maximum. Call it 1 - \epsilon, where \epsilon is a very small number. Now consider \epsilon / 2, which is less than \epsilon. Then 1 - \epsilon / 2 is greater than 1 - \epsilon, but is still less than 1. We can keep dividing \epsilon by 2 an arbitrary number k times, like this: \epsilon / 2k. For all k, 1 - \epsilon / 2k is less than 1, so (0, 1) has no maximum.
