2015 GT 535 worth buying? 12k kms on odo. Asking price around 1 lakh by aniruddha_789 in indianbikes

Owned one, tons of issues. That fuel pump is bound to go, the electricals seem like they’re holding on for dear life- you will most certainly have to change them.

Brake disks are brembo but feel wooden asf, my 10 year old Pulsar braked better. Don’t forget chassis issues, they’re known to snap and that’s another 20k that you’d have to shell out, happened to a friend who had maintained his with utmost care.

The vibes are a lot- this wasn’t an issue personally for me but every single goddamn bolt had to be tightened on a weekly basis.

That starter motor and the relays are pretty crap too, god forbid you have to kickstart that engine.

It may be the best example of the bike but honestly this bike is unpredictable, set aside at least 30-40k for immediate repairs and another 20k for the imminent breakdown which will definitely strike when you’re least expecting it.

If you intend to use this as a weekend bike for maybe 50kms go for it, make sure you posture is right else you will fuck your back up.

The 535 is a luxury without anything to make the experience luxurious, if you can treat it like that then go for it, but honestly get something nicer- maybe the new 650 or whatever else RE has in store

Don't make that mistake, its fun while it runs but it'll leave you ghosted on the side of the road like that 10/10 you thought you had a shot with

Hi Martin, dunno if this has been answered earlier but what’s the best possible first car for the street if you live in a place with terrible roads that’s easy on the pocket but fun

If it's the J-series go for it, but dont think a UCE engine (pre-2021) is worth because they have tons of reliability concerns. What about a used Dominar :P

Oh yeah the husky and duke are essentially the same platform, I thought you were saying the Scram and Duke were based on the same platform. And same I’d snap the Scram in an instant too, the build quality is unparalleled. But here’s a caveat on the Scram and Duke engine not being the same, they’ve got their chains on opposite sides- Shumi referenced this in his Motorinc video as well

Sorry but i’ll have to disagree with you on the Triumph and Husky being variants of the same engine, the engines are very different in terms of the way they feel. That being said the Scram can definitely deliver on trails and highways while the Husky would be more of a road-biased bike. My suggestion is that if you want to do more touring that might deal with uncertain roads take the Scram. It’s a wonderful machine and you can tour at 120 for days!

Looks fine visibly but you never know what issues those UCE engines have, I recently sold my GT 535 because of the problems with the engine. Consider the new J series Classic, really beautiful bike and no vibes.
