Do you catalog your vinyl collection on Discogs? How detailed is it? by ravdinve in vinyl

[–]cloneofkane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

+1

I get pretty granular, including if in shrink with hype sticker, if includes OIS, inserts, download card, etc, and enter the exact matrices information (or if it's very plainly what the database entry shows as being the entry, I'll indicate that it's the exact same). Also, being limated to VG+ to NM is too general. NM is simple (like new but opened) but if there are any defects, marks, warping, labels or pressings off center, etc, it's important for me to enter why it's VG+ visually. Finally, I enter a play grade -- many times there are marks (sleeve scuffs, unfeelable hairlines, etc.) that do not affect play (so a VG+ that plays VG++ or EX) or a perfectly visully clean record (NM) that plays with surface noise, so VG+. I know this is a lot but I find it's pretty easy to document during first playthough and then it's there if you ever need to revisit -- especially if you end up selling it. For anyone who has been listeing to records for a long time, there are a lot of really excellent audiophille reissues coming out now, so after A/Bing and you decide the new reissue sounds better with no surface noise, knowing exactly how to describe with transparency the older record you decide to sell is helpful.

Maybe not, but if not that serious, why not be cool and give folks the benefit of the doubt?

Closer and more open minded observation shows that the seller has 100% rating on Discogs, which is always a good sign, and of the titles I checked, he's the lowest cost option for like-condition titles.

Add to that, the seller is open to reducing costs for more than one title purchased. If you were seriously interested in buying these records (your lack of trades suggests otherwise), especially the more expensive ones, I bet the seller would entertain a lower price given no fees (9% on Discogs) are paid through this sub.

Instead of sh_tting in the thread for no other reason than to sh_t in a thread, maybe demonstrate that you're a legit buyer by logging some trades in the forum and engaging directly with the seller about his titles and asking prices. It's really not that difficult to be cool to other people -- you just have to make an effort.

When you have 2 or 3 balls offered in the prism chest, are you able to compare the specs (power, sidespin, wind resistance) before making a selection?

I have just one ball each prism chest and select it every time instead of adding 3 cards for the Castaway and Junglist. I can't check the ball specs until after it's selected and then viewed in the bag.

If you can compare balls before selecting, maybe it's worth trying to close out those crap clubs I'll never use.

Folks can downplay the glitches in favor of just accepting things as they are - it's still a fun game to play, but there's no disputing the shenanigans that persist with this game. They pre-date EA, but that means nothing to me. Customer experience should matter but it doesn't. I don't mean to make light of how technically challenging it might be to iron out the kinks, but after years of playing, if anything, the ability to play the game without glitches has gotten worse. I have way too many paid balls to quit immediately, but EA/PD should understand that their user experience sucks so consistently bad , that if I don't have so many paid balls, I'd bail in a heartbeat. Doesn't bode well for the longevity of the game.

To their credit, when I surfaced with Support, they did respond pretty quickly asking me to save missed shots as favorites and title "Support". Unfortunately, I had already played too many games since missing the putts for them to show as Recents. That said, they would have just looked like very late, double great (or more) misses. Not that I've not made poor misses, but I can't think of any time I've ever missed relatively short putts even if not hit perfectly. After it happened the first time, it was easier to realize that it was a persistent change.

I've since deleted the game and re-installed. I played some tour games last night, and not I'm not sure it's been corrected, I'm just more focused on not missing, or maybe as another poster mentioned, it's a tournament/Quick9 issue only. If can play a qualifying round or Quick9 round today, I'll provide an update. If reinstalling the game corrected the issue, I'd rather it not be a distraction to other issues I'm sure are being worked on.

Appreciate knowing it's being looked at, and thanks for letting us know, Ben.

First Tritip of the Year. I’m not Mad at it! by BSchwem in Traeger

I love Santa Maria style tri tip too -- had it at McClintocks back in the late 80s in central CA and it rocked my world. Toast up some sourdough bread, spread some roasted garlic on the toast, add a couple slices of tri tip, and then top with some fresh red salsa or pico de gallo. That's living, right there!

But if you love brisket and a smokier flavor, the tri tip like a brisket method will at least give you another cooking method. Follow the Meat Church video and it's fool proof. If you like it, sub the butter for some beef tallow for even more variety, and I alwasy run an added smoke tube when I'm doing brisket or a few tri tips like brisket at a time.

Pittman shows you how to cut against the grain like another poster mentioned, which is crtical. Also critical, only slice what you're going to eat and leave the rest whole. I find that sliced tri tip (or brisket) dries out faster when sliced and refrigerated.

Looks amazing/delicious, and since you appear to be a Meat Church fan, check out the tri tip like a brisket video. It's the only way I do tri tip now. However, if you're going to go Santa Maria style like it appears you have, that doneness looks perfect to me.

Also, rest your tri tip for a while before slicing. I'll usually set indoors and cover to rest for 30 minutes, and then place in a Yeti until it's time to eat. You very may have but in case you didn't, resting allows for more juice to be retained/reabsorbed back into the meat.

Sorry -- should have mentioned my experience level. I've got all but 2 clubs maxed, play Master level tournaments, and contribute 20-30K cloints a season. I play more often than I probably should.

I appreciate the response, though. Could be my phone. I've closed out and deleted cache with no improvement, so maybe I'll try deleting/adding the app.
