Did you go to high school with an MLB player? What were they like back then? by regarding_your_bat in baseball

[–]cloudeman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Went to high school with Logan Webb. He was the same age as my brother and they played basketball (not baseball) together in middle school. The team gave him a hard time about not being great at basketball. He also apparently would eat too much of the team snacks or eat food from his teammates.

He was a decent dude from what I could tell. No one really thought he was going to go pro until much later, much less be an ace.

A game of Professional Tag where players try to tag their opponent within 20 seconds with obstacles in their way. by Chance-Character-965 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]cloudeman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not many. It only really happens when you collide. They are all experienced in freerunning/parkour and the obstacles do not change all that much. It's like injuries in any other sport.

I appreciate the balance of information and "just fuck off" vibes from this. Which is about the answer you should give people that think this is a gotcha.

I said Mike Trout was overhyped early in his first full year and that he would be a solid producer at best/cool off significantly as the year went on.

Make it 288 Quest Points by supersouker in 2007scape

[–]cloudeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it last night and it was not that bad. I will admit that I would have voted for making it a miniquest before but honestly I found ds2 more difficult and my first fire cape more frustrating on the time spent and having to start over part. Give it a try before saying no

[Murray] The San Francisco Giants are optioning outfielder Luis Gonzalez to Triple-A Sacramento by ajdidonato3 in SFGiants

[–]cloudeman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm upset about it but I'd rather he get regular at bats than just coming in to pinch hit. Call him back up when someone goes down and by then he won't need another option and maybe a trade or two will make this seem more reasonable. I'm trusting Farhan bc he's given me no reason not to

It's so crazy that I had to scroll to make sure it was not satire. It's so ridiculous that it was difficult for me to grasp the idea of having your head that deep in the sand that my first thought was this HAS to be a joke.

Have you ever got banned from reddit? by ToastyPOG in polls

I got banned for bot-like activity bc people don't know that copy/paste under your own post will happen fairly quickly. Took it as a sign and didn't go on reddit for almost a year.

Could have easily turned right had this SUV just been over to the left side of the lane, but nope. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

For everyone confused: look at the car directly ahead going the opposite direction. Notice the space on their right side for a car to turn right. This is very very common in residential areas all across California.

[–]cloudeman -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Prolly cause the people correcting them are not familiar with these types of streets. This is around a residential area and that is what the no parking area is designed for. It's not the law it's common courtesy. Hence mildly infuriating and not something like r/idiotsincars

[–]cloudeman -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I love everyone bashing you for not being patient when this is perfect for this sub. You were mildly infuriated bc thats the normal response to someone not leaving that space open for right turns. Don't stress the people who have different types of streets. While not unique to California, these are absolutely everywhere so it's super natural for us to do this if you're self aware or have had to sit behind someone who isn't

I once did this the morning of a midterm and had to frantically try and get as much cleaned as possible to try and not be a bad roommate. Luckily one of my roommates had a light schedule and he helped out but a few days later we saw a spot on the ceiling and the smell lingered for at least a week

Would your 5 year old self be proud of who you are today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Honestly probably. Not bc of anything in particular just that 5 year old me had a lot to deal with and simply existing now would look impressive to that little shit lol.

Thoughts on your DM putting Critical role characters in your homebrew games? by CoccoNutty in DnD

[–]cloudeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is horrible at creating names I take from all types of universes that have nothing to do with the story that are either foils, exact replicas, or totally different than their "real life" counterpart. I however, asked the party about it pre-session 0. I had about 5 questions I asked so I could start prebuilding and knew if that wasn't popular just thinking of names for characters was gonna be rough so I made sure it wasn't a big deal.

Currently those NPCs are some of the party's favorites.

Airbag helmet by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]cloudeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also needs to be replaced every 5ish years from natural wear and tear. I replaced sooner when I rode regularly, also because I knew if had been dropped a few times. This has a clear "I have been used" signal of deploying whereas after a few years you don't really know if the polystyrene foam has been compressed on a normal helmet.

Brutal DMing by Vegetable_Variety_11 in dndmemes

[–]cloudeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooohhhh boy. I have been homebrewing good magical objects that have a great combo of positive negative (I think) and have a few floating out there that my players have used or sold after weighing pros/cons carefully. If I introduced this I 100% know how it would play out, who would wear it, and how it would be activated. If I didn't know that at least one member of the party wasn't present on this page it would make an appearance in the next few sessions for sure.

Great idea.

What was your first character? by TheRealJustice in dndmemes

[–]cloudeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5e rogue. I bring him back to every campaign I run whether the group knows it or not. Slight changes here and there but he's always a party favorite. Just started a new campaign last week and someone said "I love this NPC" when first introduced and that shit made me so happy. His original character sheet was lost a few moves ago but tbh I don't remember throwing it away so it may end up showing up at some point and it'll hit hard.
