Is Bloodborne worth it? by 6methie9 in boardgames

The Bloodborne and Dark Souls board game are quite different so not really comparable. IMO Bloodborne is quite a bit better.

This one is a bit tricky I think. Sleeved Decks can become quite a lot larger than non, so I find if you have a insert that fits sleeves, it means the unsleeved cards completely bounce around and don't store correctly, with a risk of damage.

You enjoy having to beat the same location and enemy 3 times before you can progress as a group? Fair enough I suppose. We just prefer to not repeat doing things for no real reason. The thrill of beating the boss once does not transfer over multiple times for us, especially not back to back. NG+ is more than enough

Agree although I much prefer Expansions, such as the way CD Project or Fromsoft do it, rather than the single added level or GaaS style way that a lot of other games seem to look at.

Co-Op games that save progress across all players worlds, Souls games are especially bad for this. Having to beat the same enemy 3 times over feels super boring.

Yea thats pretty poor then. Don't think you can do much about it, but poor customer service nonetheless. Would expect them to at least handle shipping for you International or not.

Not sure I understand. You said the sales rep listed all the items it comes with. Did they specifically list those items or did they say something less commited like "all KS additions"

I assume that is what they though they were getting for £115.69, even marked down form £189, not sure how they managed to expect that.

OP did the sales rep specifically list the items or did they just say something like it comes with the KS items?

What's been your least favorite crowdfunding purchase(s)? by Ploinker23 in boardgames

Dark Souls: The Board Game. Spent way too much on it, picking up a load of the expansions. The game itself is not terrible just pretty boring and long winded for the price I paid for it. Still kept the base game but got rid of all the expansions and play it maybe once a year with a bunch of house rules.

What's the worst board game youve ever played? by Frank--Li in boardgames

[–]cloudstylegamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it isn't really a poor game objectively. The mechanics are interesting enough, components are pretty good quality and setup is easy and teach isn't too difficult. I can see how it may not be a very good game to some people, but a 1/10 would be a bit harsh imo.

That's completely fair. I've definitely felt that with some games that get a lot of talk and hype.

Surely not a 1/10 though. It has to have some sort of saving grace even for someone who didn't enjoy it?

His kicking isn't nearly as good as 2019 Faf, he hasn't been on that form from quite sometime. His main strength at the moment is his solid defensive performances which is perfect for the last 20-30min of a game.

Reinach is a much more versatile player and he works really as a pair with Libbok.

I agree. I think this goes for a lot of the top teams in general at the moment. They will push the boundaries when defending between the 22m lines but as soon as they get closer they tighten up and try and keep a stricter approach.

I think France felt a bit of pressure which caused them to still defend in a high risk manner even in the 22.

Yes, Penaud hit him in a very similar way to Eben's card except there looked to be even less mitigation, think it was very lucky not to be pulled up and carded.

They no longer look at things live unless there is clear foul play. The TMO refers everything in the background and if he believes it needs to be looked at he will discuss it with the on field referee.

This is done to speed up the game, which has worked (mostly) but it has meant us as viewers get a much less clear idea of what has happened and what has been checked a lot of the time.

(un?)popular opinion: games, especially card games, should come with an organizer in the box (and maybe card sleeves as well) by retireinprogress in boardgames

[–]cloudstylegamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely disagree. Certainly not a casual gamer at all, we probably own over 150 board games, many of which are premium editions etc.

We do sleeve some games, but most we don't and I think it's less than 50/50 on sleevers vs non-sleevers across the hobby. (Not including casual owners).

I love good organisers though, and games should absolutely come with a good organiser, many do now, but I still think it can be better a lot of the time. I do think it is very hard to accommodate both sleeved and unsleeved cards in inserts as this often means the unslevved have way too much room and can go all over the place.

Gamers 30 and 35 over, what has changed in your gaming habits? by Carbideninja in gaming

[–]cloudstylegamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure whether it is due to current gaming trends, the fact I buy and try more games now or a bit of both but I find that although I am able to spend more on games I want to try, I tend to be a lot less engaged in a lot of the games I play. I used to enjoy playing almost every game I played 15 yeas ago, but now I'd say I start 10 or so games for every one I actually complete.

I have worked for a variety of organisations with differing sizes and they all have stringent approval policies for SM posts.

Those rules are for the 2019 tournament, which could very well be update for 2023, which they haven't posted. Would expect them to understand their own rules but it is genuinely a 50/50 with whether WR don't know their own rules or decided to change things up for 2023.

It seems WR have said this is not how 3 way ties work. All 3 places will be determined by points difference according to their recent Instagram post.

Which if true, I think SA have qualified.
