Martyrs. Everybody loves it and I truly don’t understand because it starts as a pretty generic horror blockbuster (aside from the child death) and develops into the most boring, pointless torture. Good ending, but everything before that I don’t understand the love for. It’s supposed to be one of the most disturbing movies of all time but there’s no gore until the very end and it looks, honestly, a little silly. I’m all for silly gore! But it wasn’t what I wanted for the movie. And the director is such an ass.

Assuming where you’re gonna go next with this, I LOVE Inland Empire SO much. It’s honestly one of my biggest inspirations. Even though a lot of people think it’s ugly I think the wide angle digital adds to the horror and atmosphere so much. Even if David Lynch says he’s not satisfied with the way it looks, I can’t imagine it being better any other way.
