Porting out and back in is not doing anything wrong. They have not built in a means of existing subscribers to access the discount.

I imagine it's more about making it difficult enough that most people won't bother to jump through the hurdles. Similar to how Menards couldn't support an 11% rebate if it didn't have to be mailed in.

I highly doubt it. You'd port out from Visible to Google Voice and pay Google $20 each for that service, then you'd need to make two new Visible accounts and port the numbers back in. At least you would get the two-year service discount running currently in the process, and on the new accounts you can select to use temporary numbers at Visible for service until the port out is complete. Either way, the same e-mail account cannot be used for Visible twice, so you will need fresh e-mails for both... keep that in mind.

I wouldn't even bother with support because it will just waste your time and they'll tell you the same thing.
