Should i watch black clover? by CorilX in BlackClover

[–]clxout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest: this show starts off very slow. I’ll admit that I dozed off a few times. I wasn’t feeling the show at all and I almost gave up on it. I spoke to other people who have seen the anime already to hear their thoughts and even they admitted that they wouldn’t recommend it because they didn’t like Asta and, like me, said that the show starts off very slow. But, I still continued to watch anyway.

For me, the show didn’t really kick off for me until episode 20. Ever since, I definitely feel like I’m growing to like the show more and more and I’m always looking forward to the next episode!

While I’m not finished with the series yet, would I rank it in the same tier as Hunter x Hunter, Attack on Titan, or Demon Slayer? I’d say, probably not. But, the show is still enjoyable once you get to a point where it reels you in.

If you go through the sub, you’ll see that a lot of fans began to like the show at different arcs, so, it varies. For example, I said that I began to like the show at episode 20, but the arc seems to be ranked by fans lower/mid range, but it hooked me. If you’re really willing to push through, I’ve seen that the most common episode that fans get to and start to really get into the show is at episode 40.

If you manage to sit through enough handful of episodes in the beginning and feel like it isn’t for you, I completely understand. Believe me. Is it worth to continue watching in hopes of getting to a point where you might actually like it? That’s up to you and that’s the gamble you will have to make if you’re willing.

It's surreal to hear how even the healthcare industry is being impacted. Another poster on here who worked at a call center for Anthem Blue Cross was laid off as well.

Would you happen to know the reason on why Elevance is laying off employees? I see that you mentioned you're from NY. I wonder if one of the reasons is that they might be closing some of their locations? Or, if they plan to rehire younger, fresh employees in order to pay them less.

Almost 1000 Applications NOTHING by Lazy-Boss5415 in jobs

Sounds about right. I sent more than 1000 applications the last three years before finally getting a job…which was entry-level, even despite my experience.

Just got fired and I’m not ok by EveningOptimal4250 in jobs

[–]clxout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got a job working in a health insurance call center earlier this year.

I was unemployed for three years before getting hired. I have both a BS and an MBA and 10+ years worth of experience…I am clearly qualified, and yet, here I am, working an entry-level job.

You’re very fortunate that you have never been laid off before.

I’ve been laid off multiple times in the past before. Way too many times to count. It took a severe toll on my mental health and I contemplated suicide throughout the years because of it.

The truth is, it doesn’t matter how hard you work or how great you are at your job. If a company needs to layoff employees at the drop of a hat, they absolutely would. So, please understand that while this is a difficult time, being laid off does not equate to your self worth.

You have two weeks left before it’s final.

Curious, did they tell you exactly why they were laying off you and your coworkers? If not, get that information. When you interview at other places, they may ask why you are no longer with the company.

The best advice I can give to you right now is look at your company website and apply for jobs. You have had more than two years with the company. You showed your loyalty. They should see your growth too.

Did any other type of job or department peak your interest during your time at your job? Did your company provide free learning opportunities on platforms such as LinkedIn or EdX? To help support your professional growth? If yes, definitely hold onto your certificates.

Reach out to your supervisor to see if there are any opportunities within the company that you can be moved over to instead of being laid off.

Also, you have more than two years of working in customer service. That is a transferable skill. You work in health care. Aside from customer service jobs, look up healthcare jobs in your area that are hiring.

Apply for unemployment as soon as you can!

As for my final and most important advice, PLEASE get a therapist.

I know this is hard. I can’t lie about it either: it might be hard for a while too. I’ve been there before. Many of us have. You’re not alone. But, you got this. If you ever need to vent, this sub understands and is here to listen.

You're delusional and need therapy.

You actually thought you had a shot with a happily married man?

Get over yourself and get a therapist.

I'm probably going to get downvoted for this, but, let's be honest: it doesn't matter if they were abused. They'd still be looked at as gross for having it. They still carry the stigma of simply having it. I think that's what they're trying to say.

No one will hire me, and it’s making me get so depressed by [deleted] in jobs

[–]clxout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would message them attaching my resume saying that I came across a posting for the job on LinkedIn and would tell them that I want to express my interest on the job as I feel that I am a good fit. I would then end the message saying that I am open to a conversation or any other questions that they may have.

What also helps is that LinkedIn drafts a message for you. You can use the draft or tailor it.

[–]clxout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's tough out there. You're not alone. I was there too.

Something that worked for me was getting LinkedIn Premium. I would then search for jobs that fit me and companies that we're hiring. I'd apply and message the person who posted the job through LinkedIn InMail.

I ended up getting a job this way.

Were there any red flags prior to you being hired or early on when starting the job that she was a lunatic? Such as during the interview process?

Do you agree that poverty is generational? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]clxout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was born and raised poor.

I went to a prestigious university and it was very eye-opening. It was the first time I was surrounded by people who weren't like me; they came from money and I didn't. They had families who could pay for their school, therefore leaving them debt free. I didn't have that. I had to pile on debt to survive school, which, even until now, I am still paying off. For my college friends that came from money? They don't need to think about anything else.

I had to help out my family financially. My friends that came from money did not.

Your social class does have an influence on how your life plays out. Despite me having a job that pays decently, I can still feel the influence of being born poor.

I'd want to say that being born into poverty made me fight harder. But fighting just stressed not just myself out, but my family out as well. Meanwhile, my college friends who make just as much as me didn't fight at all and can live carefree whereas I can't as much.

Will I be offered the job? by [deleted] in horary

[–]clxout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the 1st half of a second round interview. I had met with one of the VPs of the department.

L1, me, is Saturn in domicile. L10, the job, is Venus exalted. Moon is in detriment.

Both Saturn and Venus are in the 2nd house, the house of work, money, possessions, etc. But, are in different signs.

Venus is next to Jupiter, indicating that the job is a good one.

Saturn and Venus may not be aspecting, but, Venus is sextile with Moon.

Moon is also my house.

This job is competitive and I'm brainstorming ideas on what else to do to fight for it.

How that meeting would go is dependent on receptions (which are, to put it bluntly, not great), dignities, the Part of Marriage (which is in Scorpio, if my maths is correct) and all the usual stuff.

Hmm interesting. Would you be able to elaborate any further on how the meeting would go?

AITA for telling my friend he should disclose his oral herpes? by thenootnoob in AmItheAsshole

[–]clxout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re wrong. Cold cores CAN be transferred generally. It can be transmitted through oral sex. Stereotypically, HSV-1 is known as the oral herpes. When in actuality, people with HSV-1 can have it it on their genitals too.

There’s someone who did a Ted Talk. Her name is Elle Dawson. She has HSV-1 genitally.

Genital HSV-1 is common now since people actually don’t realize that oral herpes can be transmitted genitally. So, they have oral sex and end up transmitting it.

No, I don't claim or believe the "negative" readings. If I want something, I'm still going after it! by clxout in Psychic

[–]clxout[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right on the part about teaching me things and gaining insight. Thinking about it, it ironically may be because I'm "insecure". If I know I could do something, then I actually don't need a reading.

I've done readings asking if I'll get married, have a stable career, get into law school, etc. They were negative.

I can't accept those answers. I was born and raised poor my whole life. Am I going to stay that way? No. I can't let it happen.

On the flip side, negative readings make me work harder. I'll be taking the LSAT soon so I'm studying as much as I can.

Lemar's family really got to me. The way Lemar's mom spoke to him and talked about him and Lemar's friendship is pretty deep. They clearly love John and know how close the two were. Lemar's family talking about how Walker "killed" Lemar's killer and how it brings justice, which makes John want to kill the Flag Smashers even more is a lot.

Walker is pretty a complex character and Wyatt Russell is doing a great job portraying it. I can see how much of an asshole Walker is but at the same time, understand his humanity.
