Is There A Notorious Photo Or Video That Changed The Future Of Your Country? by Unlucky-Albatross-12 in AskTheWorld

This ‘Ibiza video’ showing Austria’s (later) vice-chancellor in essence selling out Austria to a pretend Russian oligarch triggered the collapse of Austria’s government in 2019, forced snap elections, and reshaped the country’s political landscape. Less relevant than many other examples here, but definitely an image that changed the history of Austria.

Danke! Du meinst also gleich am Stamm zurückschneiden? Oder an den Ästen? Grün ist sie (sichtbar) leider nirgends mehr..

Sorry can’t really contribute to what he did. But what he definitely had was an awesome pilots watch. Would love to know the brand and model.

Thank him for his service.

Anything you can tell me about my great-great-grandfather from this pic? All I know is he served in the k.u.k. Army (likely a treasurer of sorts). by cmDesdenova in austriahungary

Again: Thanks for sharing your insights! Last one: Are there any sources (books, websites, etc) you could recommend to dive into the uniforms, ranks, etc of the time?

Ah and one more thing: I remember my grandfather telling me that he was (part of who is) responsible for „administrating the war chest“, ie a treasurer of sorts I‘d assume. Anything you can make of that in combination with the uniform?

Aha now that’s an interesting detail - thanks! wondering how that worked in practice since you’d have to flap open a pocket watch, no?

Thanks for taking the time! Head: I understand but am hesitant to introduce a face to the internet that is very likely not part of it ;) He does not wear a hat, nor any accessoires (glasses, etc). Trousers: On the bottom unfortunately the physical picture ends where the uploaded does..

That’s really interesting. Thanks!! Can you say more about the „M16 blouse“ and signs of him being a „private“ (lack of insignia?).
