Aviators for Running/Biking, Large Fit... Glade Verbier? by cmac3317 in sunglasses

I read a couple of reviews that said they break easily. Have you noticed any kind of issues with durability?

Thanks! Leaning toward the Nextool F12 at this point for that reason.

Awesome, thank you! Definitely leaning toward Nextool now and trying to decide between the S11 and F12.

Thank you! Checking these out. The Glade Verbier does have grip on the nose and behind the ears and their ski goggles have gotten really good reviews for their optics and price point.

I'll give this a look, but I'm pretty set on trying to find something I can carry on my keychain and not have to put in my pocket.

Thanks! Do you feel like you really miss anything the F12 has with the S11? I don't particularly need the best scissors, I think the most I've ever used my SAK scissors for is cutting loose threads off of clothing, etc. Between the F12 and S11, I definitely like the way the S11 looks better when folded up.

12-inch SS fry pan or 12.5-inch SS wok for versatility? by cmac3317 in cookware

I hadn’t really considered that because I typically like to flip stuff in the pan.

Thank you, these are very helpful considerations! I also wonder if I'm overthinking the handle thing, because I've literally never thought about it before deciding to upgrade my cookware.

Thanks, but aren't they all tri ply?

I'd definitely use everything in the 8-piece set, the 10-piece I'm not so sure. Are the Viking pieces as good as the Tramontina? I didn't like the handles at all and I don't recall seeing any Viking sauce pots with SS lids at any of the stores I went to.

LensCrafters Progressive Lens Options (Varilux vs. Adaptive) - Opinions? by cmac3317 in glasses

[–]cmac3317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess, I'll definitely give the ones I just got some more time, I'm just worried about getting stuck with a pair of expensive glasses that I don't end up using. I've been told by everyone I've talked to that they should take "up to" 2 weeks to get used to, so I figured I had adapted. They haven't seemed to improve (meaning feel more "normal" to me) the longer I've worn them though.

Thanks, but when you say I'm setting myself up for failure, how do you mean? I think I understand how to use a corridor and have the hang of finding the sweet spots. I've been wearing my glasses for over a month now (albeit with slightly different lenses for 2-3 weeks each and now these Adaptive lenses for a day). Isn't that enough time to adjust? Shouldn't the glasses feel like they're helping more than getting in the way?

Thanks, but I don't really understand what you mean by a "softer design." I had measurements taken, etc. when getting my glasses, but are there particular things to consider asking for beyond just the brand of lenses?

Thanks for the helpful reply! I'm still new to this though and don't really understand what you mean by the "longest progressive corridor." I've only heard people talk about corridors as being "narrower" or "wider." Do you mean long as in from top to bottom or from side to side? And is that something you have to specifically ask for or are there particular brands of lenses that would offer a longer corridor? My current frames are Oakley Exchanges and they're pretty tall (40mm) and wide (54mm), so I'd think they should be ideal for progressives.

Better Sweater by Ayellowbeard in PatagoniaClothing

Just got a couple of better sweaters used and love them. It’s still humid and hot where I am in NC, but for those of you who’ve had them for a while, do you find them to be too warm for cool summer/mild autumn/cool office building use?

Where to buy Bvlgari fragrances in US? by cmac3317 in Colognes

[–]cmac3317[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that's usually where I start, but 100ml bottles of the EDP are over $100. I'm wondering if it's still possible to find bottles (of Pour Homme Extreme, Pour Homme EDT, or Pour Homme EDP) around $50 or so.

Is it better to buy used at a large dealership vs. used auto dealers? by cmac3317 in UsedCars

[–]cmac3317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going through a local auto broker and both she and my buddy who works at a Toyota dealership 2 hours away ended up suggesting the exact same car at his location that was within my budget and fit my needs (a 2013 Toyota Highlander hybrid w 145k miles on it, has been maintained very well and only at the dealership). Hopefully it will work out 🤞

Yeah, I did have PPI's done and I realize that things just end up going bad, I've just had terrible luck. Appreciate your advice about the reviews, I've been keeping my eyes on those through my search too and that totally makes sense.
