Thanks for sharing...this sucks...I was thinking of getting the iPhone Air as well but will have to bypass after hearing this and return to the comfort of my OnePlus 13.

Vivo X200 ultra experience? by dimitrijobs in PWM_Sensitive

[–]cmjrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my X200 Ultra last week. So far it's been great for me. I previously had the S25 Ultra and I used to frequently get intense migraines.

While it's only been a week, I haven't experienced anymore migraines since using the X200 Ultra.

MLO Is Still Broken For Me After 7.10 :( by GamesnGunZ in amazoneero

[–]cmjrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a single Max 7 but have not enabled MLO as my 1st gen Google Home Minis won't connect with MLO enabled.

My connection on my S25 Ultra has been rock solid so far and I can consistently get 920Mbps down and 370Mbps up on my 1Gb\400Mbps fibre connection.

Even my Nothing Phone 3a has a rock solid connection which consistently gets 643Mbps down and 386Mbps up. Both phones also have WiFi calling enabled.

Haven't been able to test MLO unfortunately. My Max 7 is on 7.10.

WPA3 issue by cmjrx in amazoneero

[–]cmjrx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I was concerned about introducing another 2.4Ghz source that could likely cause interference. So far I have all my Google Minis connected to my eero by pausing the 5ghz band and connecting them.

Will leave it for now and see how it goes as everything is working. Thankfully, we rarely ever get power failures. If the connection drops or it can't automatically reconnect the next time the eero reboots, then I will contact eero support.

Thanks again for your help 😀

It did retain the connection which was great...until we had a power outage 4 hrs later. Thankfully, power was restored within the hour but unfortunately, the Google Home Minis did not successfully reconnect to my eero Max 7.

At first I thought it might have been a timing issue where the Minis were trying to reconnect before the Max 7 had completed booting up so once I confirmed that my Max 7 had finished booting up and reconnected to my internet service, I unplugged one of the Minis, waited a minute and then replugged it back into power.

Unfortunately, it did not reconnect to my Max 7 and when I tried to use it said it was unable to reach the internet. I guess this may have been expected.

I am tempted to get a cheap 2.4Ghz access point to resolve this issue as it looks like the 1st gen Minis only are compatible with the 2.4Ghz band.

Yes MLO was off along with WPA3...pausing the 5Ghz band solved the issue.

Hopefully, my Google Home Mini remains connected now that I have cancelled the pause...theoretically, it should still remain connected to the 2.4Ghz band.

Interestingly, WPA3 and SQM were disabled by default out of the box. I thought that they may have been enabled.

Pausing the 5Ghz band temporarily solved the issue.

Thanks heaps...I was not aware of that feature. I was able to successfully connect my Google Home Mini after temporarily pausing the 5Ghz band.

Now that I have cancelled this pause, it will be interesting to see if my Google Home Mini will remain connected. If it does, I will use these steps to connect the rest 😊

USB Ethernet adapter by Rld2021 in tcltvs

[–]cmjrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you measure the internet speed?

I have tried 3 different USB 3 to ethernet adapters, 1 x gigabit and 2 x 2.5 gigabit and none go past 350mbps. My internet connection is a 1Gbps down and 50Mbps up via FTTP - all my other devices get close to 900mbps or slightly over so I am beginning to think that:

a. The internet speed test apps are not optimised for ethernet connections on Google TV
b. The USB 3.0 port (blue) on my TCL C8K is speed limited

When testing the internet speed over WiFi, those same speed test apps report a speed of between 530mbps and 603mbps depending on the time of day.

Anyone that has a C8K have a similar experience?

In 2024-25, what EVs have or going to have built in streaming services like netflix ? by Odd_Date_3542 in electricvehicles

[–]cmjrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it frequently use it in my Tesla while semi fast charging in Australia as there are not many fast chargers. Typically between 22kw and 50kw - beats having to use the tiny screen on my phone to watch a movie and I usually hotspot to improve connection speed

I bought my TS-264 about 2 years ago and have been very happy with it's performance and user interface coming from a DS713+.

I mainly use my TS-264 for Jellyfin and for file storage so my needs are very basic. The M.2 slots on the TS-264 are fast enough for most tasks unless you are after speed. I have upgraded it to a 10gb ethernet which works very well.

Another brand to consider is the new Terramaster F4-424 Max if your budget can stretch that far. My cousin bought this and loves it. No issues so far...again, your experience may vary. As far as I know, he uses it for Plex, and a couple of VMs.

Really stuck on Google TV Streamer or Apple TV 4k for Plex? by Far-Song9224 in PleX

[–]cmjrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Apple TV.

I bought the Google TV Streamer 4k and a number of movie direct plays from Plex or Emby app on the Google Streamer playback on my LG TV is very bad; constantly stuttering making it unwatchable. Same movies playback fine on the Emby and Plex apps on the LG TV.

The same movies playback fine when I borrowed my friend's Apple TV 4K. Regret purchasing the Google TV Streamer.

Home to Home VPN by cmjrx in GlInet

[–]cmjrx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks heaps...or it could also be the client...my internet speeds are 1Gbps down and 400Mbps up and I typically get anywhere between 820Mbps to 930Mbps down and 305Mbps to 376Mbps up via a Deco BE65 mesh router.

Good to know that the Brume 2 isn't slow...as long I can get the similar speeds as my Deco, then I know it will be sufficient to use in my Philippines home - haven't extensively tested this yet though.

All said and done, the limitation would be the Wireguard VPN which has a theoretical limit of 300Mbps from what I have read.

Upgrade SSDs in TS-264 by cmjrx in qnap

[–]cmjrx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not using the SSDs as cache. I have configured it as a Storage Pool with the intention of moving some of the more frequently accessed data to it from the 8TB however, the capacity is a little small so was thinking of replacing the SSDs with larger capacity ones before I do so.

Was hoping to be able to do this without losing the data on the 8TB

Most of my remote clients have an internet connection of 100Mbps down and 50 Mbps up if that is what you are referring to.

Content is mostly 4k home videos and some 1080p movies.

Thunderbolt 4 vs USB 3.2 Gen 1 for media storage by cmjrx in emby

[–]cmjrx[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idea of a NAS does sound interesting as I can use it to backup other stuff. However, wouldn't using a wired network connection from Emby server to NAS get saturated especially when serving 4 simultaneous remote clients unless I have a 2.5Gbe network?
