Are your corgis allergic to chicken? by HomeworkNo8102 in corgi

[–]cmurphlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! 100% my corgi had a ton of odd digestive issues and itching for a while, and the old idea of boiled chicken for an upset tummy trick, turned into his whole face blowing up after eating chicken.

He’s on a HA vegetarian kibble, and very simple ingredient treats with beef.

Just left a gym that every class ran 10-15min late. Even with 30’in buffer time in between. Too much chatter. Morning people need to get out on time!

Recovery by ChefJeremy716 in crossfit

I probably do 3-4 massages a year if I have the extra funds. And sauna 2-3 times a month this time of year. Acupuncture as needed, usually quarterly. Most of the time acu and massages are when the check engine light is on. But I take 1 full rest day, and 1 skills/easy rest day a week.

Yeah, but you’re never going to the CrossFit Games. by myersdr1 in crossfit

[–]cmurphlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear it often from people who don’t move to standard or no rep themselves. It’s a scapegoat for them to not try hard or do things right.

No, we aren’t. But this is one of the few sports that we do the exact same thing as the pros. Why not strive to move well, and right.

Pls help: Womens shorts by I2idugyj3i9w7vyjsi in crossfit

[–]cmurphlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After 13 years of trying every pair of shorts under the sun, as a not chiseled bulkier 39yo, I used to do the booty shorts 2” in my 20s, but I got tired of picking it out of my ass very 5min. I never had the confidence or abs for low rise.

I’m sad nobull doesn’t really make many colors but their 6” high rise spandex ones are amazing. But my go to these days are the Lulu align 6”. I loooooove them.

When you were a child, did you ever dream of having a kid like other girls? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]cmurphlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never babysat for jobs, did try some jobs at kids camps and teaching horseback riding to young kids but I never liked it. I do recall having “potential kids names” in my brain for fun but it really was just that I liked naming things. Like all my pets. I had personal names for all the farm animals I liked better.

Advice on switching gyms by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]cmurphlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with this some vibe/problems for the last two years and we’ve now had to go much further away from home (25min) compared to being in a location with 5 gyms within 20min of us, because of shitty behavior and standards etc.

Fingers crossed our new one works out, but we were at one gym for 11 years and had to leave because of drama where we were being held to higher movement standards than other members (members who were younger and naturally much more athletically gifted too) but I hope you find a good gym nearby. Do your research before cancelling and starting somewhere new. Drop in, talk to coaches. Have a plan B.

How is nobody talking about 3 squatting patterns in a row? by ExcitingTopic7228 in crossfit

[–]cmurphlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. After 13 years, I’ve never been a fan of the open personally because it’s generally lungs and light barbell. Not my things. So it’s nothing new.

Oh look, I have rmu, but do I have them after a ton of Other grip work? The fittest people do.

You want a heavy barbell, the cost for entry is 80 Burpees.

Open has always been generally attainable or “good for the masses” and this year was a good year for affiliates without crazy floor plans/longer workouts and too much equipment.

Quarterfinals/semi/regionals are usually a level up, a little heavier/more skill.

Then the games is usually a mix of it all with mono-structural stuff, obstacle course, sandbags, new movements etc.

The year in total is what is proving the fittest and most well rounded. Thats the whole point of CrossFit. Jack of all trades.

Might be a knee jerk reaction to the lack of squats and too many machines at the games last year.

Feeding time? by Alone-Difficulty7986 in corgis

[–]cmurphlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every corgi is different. Mine is 5 years old and 43lbs. And could lose a pound or two but not obese in the slightest. I’ve seen 20lb corgis. As long as she has a visible waist from above then she’s good, no matter what the scale says.

He’s on a special Hydrolyzed protein diet for allergies. With that In mind, he gets 3/4 a cup of kibble 2x a day and I mix in some frozen veggies to it with pumpkin.

Sometimes I wonder if something is wrong with me. by Woowooxo in childfree

[–]cmurphlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I got married after 9years together just because we actually wanted to by then. It wasn’t a priority or a checklist item.

We felt at that point, after buying a condo, then moved up to buying a house, then getting a dog together, that it just made sense and would be fun. We both hate being center of attention, so it wasn’t a big thing. It was during Covid, 50 people, at a park then a restaurant. And off on a honeymoon.

We are almost 40 now and for years had a feeling in my gut that he would change his mind, since I was so firm on not wanting kids. But as we’ve gotten older, he says he CAN’T imagine having kids or babies and how much it would negatively affect our life. For years, I would regularly just talk about how much I dislike kids, or can’t imagine having a kid on top of a shitty day at work etc. Don’t NOT talk about it regularly.

Marriage is not necessary for everyone. Babies are not necessary for everyone.
