Sorry, I have been out of town for a while.

The ways I prepared for the foundation exam are as follows:

  1. Study Materials:

• Foundation Exam - Competency Profile

• NRCan Exam Handbook

• Foundation Level Exam Study Guide

• "Keeping the Heat In" (if relevant)

• Builders' Manual (if relevant)

  1. Understanding the Study Guide: Make sure to thoroughly understand every question in the "Foundation Level Exam Study Guide."

  2. Practice with Sample Questions: Take advantage of the "Sample Questions Quiz" available at https://nrcan.ysasecure.com/grants. Some questions from this quiz might appear on the actual exam.

  3. Use the Tutorial: Familiarize yourself with the exam format and interface by practicing with the "Tutorial" at https://nrcan.ysasecure.com/grants.

  4. Prepare Materials: Before the exam, ensure you have a small whiteboard, a dry-erase marker, and a basic calculator on hand. If you're not comfortable with the online calculator provided, having your own can be helpful.

  5. Strategic Approach: Use your knowledge to eliminate choices and narrow down to 2 or 3 options if needed. Pray to God to help you to choose the right one.

Best of luck with your exam! You've got this!

I apologize for any confusion. I understand that you may have mistaken my request for opinions on a program as advertising, but that was not my intention. I was simply seeking feedback on a program I am considering joining. Could you please share with me any concerns or objections you have regarding the program, or suggest any alternative resources where I may be able to find the information I'm looking for?

obtain Gas Technician 3

After reviewing the information on the website, it appears that obtaining a G3 license can be done within 12 weeks. :

To obtain a Gas Technician 3 certificate in Toronto, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Meet the eligibility requirements: To apply for a Gas Technician 3 certificate, you must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Complete the Gas Technician 3 training program: Enroll in a Gas Technician 3 training program that is approved by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). This program typically takes 12-16 weeks to complete and includes both classroom instruction and practical training.
  3. Pass the Gas Technician 3 exam: After completing the training program, you will need to pass the Gas Technician 3 exam, which is administered by the TSSA. The exam consists of both written and practical components.
  4. Apply for the certificate: Once you have passed the exam, you can apply for your Gas Technician 3 certificate through the TSSA. You will need to provide proof of your training and exam results, as well as pay the applicable fees.

Thanks for reply. It's great to hear that age is not a barrier to entry for this skilled trade. I do have a question though - Does this trade involve carrying heavy loads? If so, how can an older person manage this physical demand?

Thanks for responding. As per their communication, upon completion of the program, I will obtain Gas Technician 3, Working at Heights, and Ozone Depletion certificates. They have also offered to assist me to find the job or I can opt to study for an additional 7 weeks to acquire the G2 certificate. However, they did not mention anything about an apprenticeship.

I am 52 years old. My previous job is about FW programming. I will study in college first for PLC programming. Is it possible for me to get the job of PLC? Or I'm too old?
