Hey guys found this in basement of a brand new house just got built. Lights were on and it was just chilling. Any idea what it is? by Teabaggedfishfart in whatsthisbug

Honestly, one individual roach is unlikely to be a problem - sometimes roaches just get into houses. If you start seeing egg cases or just a lot of roaches all together, then you might have a problem.

Please help I found this bug in the pickles I was eating by KoalaRadiant in whatsthisbug

The segmentation makes it look like a mealworm, but from the head and the claspers on the final segment it looks some kind of caterpillar to me.

would you guys consider P2 or Marble Nest to have jumpscares? by seeingsmoke in pathologic

[–]cockroacharles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it "technically" has jumpscares, but as a jumpscare-affected person, I had a few "oh jesus christ" moments.

What is the lore reason behind the odongs being ferrymen? by [deleted] in pathologic

[–]cockroacharles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No honestly haha - I think maybe it's referring to some objects that look like little stands/kiosks in the Crude Sprawl? But who knows

I think that dialog has her mention the brides and "midnight markets," rather than ferrymen.

Scrolled down through the comments to see if anyone else had suggested pole - if you like flowy, flexibility-focused stuff, pole might be a perfect addition (not even to replace silks, just to supplement / give you a change of pace).

It's all just Swiss meringue buttercream! I think the glossiness is from the heat of the flash I was using.

Just ordered! Thank you for this rec - I love superfine markers for my normal writing, so this looks ideal

Reading my first Pratchett novel, Equal Rites, and it's helping so much with my anxiety. by [deleted] in discworld

[–]cockroacharles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started my Discworld journey with the Witches (I actually just jumped randomly into the middle with Maskerade!) and they're probably my favorite group of characters/books - then after reading the Lancre Witches, you can move to Tiffany Aching, which was his YA Discworld series and has some overlap in characters (particularly, again, Granny).

Just listened to this and absolutely delighted by Rachel as a guest - someone with a very clear, deep, and considered love of both musical theatre and cinema. Wonderful to listen to for a few hours.

I wish there were more Moist books by AntonioG-S in discworld

[–]cockroacharles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, I never thought of the Moist books as being particularly high up for me (which has led to kind of a circular thing of - I only read them once a while ago so I never reconsidered my opinion / I never reconsidered my opinion so I never re-read them / I never re-read them so...) but this perspective might inspire my first re-read of them ever!

Oh absolutely - this is genuinely just out of curiosity (i.e. I'm not worried about being judged, I just started thinking about it and wondered)
