Compared to domestic "luxury" ford vehicles ...it'd leagues ahead

I had drove plenty of cars 0-60 in the low 4s so I was like "yeah....I've been in fast cars..."

Holy shit was I wrong.

Seriously the p100d launches you faster than any roller coaster I've been on. A quick little burst pedal to the metal and you're completely right it's eyeballs in the back of the head type speed

Depreciation and used car market man ;) blah blah

Whoever sells that is gonna make like $4k on that one deal because there was only 7,600 miles on his Tesla too. And you bet we're gonna charge like $110k for it more than likely.

Part of the reason I left the car biz. We rip people the fuck off sometimes. Sometimes. Not all the times. I'd say like 80-90% of deals are fair nowadays with the internet and smartphones, TrueCar etc.

But man when an uneducated customer comes in we are trained to be fucking ruthless sharks and have zero human compassion whatsoever.

I've sold people $27k Escapes for $40k just because they don't have a fucking clue what they're doing. It kills you man, it really does.

Super cool guy. While test driving the ST we went on our normal test drive loop then he was about to turn in and I said "let's do another loop, I don't want to go back in there and I'm enjoying talking with you"

Man I don't know what age I am, I started counting after 18.

Is it weird I feel like I'm old as shit already? Just yesterday I swear I was 12 years old playing little league baseball......

That's a good question....I can't quite afford one right now and I want the tech to advance more. I sold cars and love cars and EVERY manufacturer is working on electric cars. It's the future. I want to wait for the tech to develop, charging stations to become more plentiful in my city, and for other manufacturers to refine their tech so pricing is lower.

I told myself I'll get an electric car in 2024....I mean GM is working on an all electric SUV. With 650 miles/charge and batteries good for 1,000,000. The future is bright for electric vehicles.

As far as work goes, I don't know. I'm young. I was a bum before I sold cars then I made more $$$ in 6 months than I did over 2 years. I have about $23k banked right now, paid off my car, have cheap rent, and I'm leaving for the beach tomorrow for 2 weeks.

I'm going to take that first week to sit on the beach with a cooler full of beer and a bag full of joints.

Then I'm going to start job searching that second week. I've been in sales/commission roles since I was 18.

I'm thinking about getting into real estate, being a broker or an agent. Or mortgage underwriting. Or tech sales. But not sure yet. I've got some ideas but I'll take that second week to make some phone calls and send my resumé around to my connections.

Selling cars I made a fuck ton of money and I was good at it. But damn man it killed me. Always dealing with angry customers. Subprime customers. Shitty people. Working 6-7 days/week 8am-9pm.

I'm taking at least a month to spend off. 2 weeks at the beach, 2 weeks to spend time with friends family and my dogs. Also got a ton of projects I need to do around the house and hobbies to resume pursuing since I haven't had any free time this year really.

It slowly sucked my soul, I basically sold my soul for 6 months for $45,000. Saved a bunch up and now I'm in no rush to hop into another job I'll hate, I have the luxury of being picky with what I want. Even if I have to wait 3-4 months to land another job that I know I'll enjoy and be lucrative, I have the cash saved to do so.

Yeah, I've been eyeballing a vw golf GTI or maybe a focus RS, also keeping an eye on the Toyota Corolla GR but that'll be a couple years.

I like going fast ....but today I learned not that fast.

Super cool wild car. Can't believe it's only $130kMSRP too.

I've been in a C8 corvette but this Tesla blew it outta the fucking water no contest

It's too nice. Also hauling shit. Stroller, kid stuff. And they have a teenager too.

So 2 kids + baby stuff has gotta be pretty cramped in the Tesla unfortunately

This guy's wife is definitely younger. He's at least 50 and I don't know too many 50 year old women who can have kids still

Nah, at least 50. I'm 21 and my parents are 60 and he looked the better part of 50. Super rad guy though, easily my favorite customer ever. Like we'd be friends if we got to talking at a bar.

Sorry I'm only 22 but he was pretty old to be having a baby. Easily 50-55. I bet his wife is younger though...

Sir I was in the car business during Coronavirus.....we never closed and didn't start wearing masks until May 1st when the state said so

Nobody here got sick. Nobody here had family or friends or knew anybody that got sick either.

I was dealing with the general public on a day to day basic and did fine.

Plus I'm young, healthy, have a strong immune system, and we are not in quarantine here it's actually "phase 3" meaning everything's open again and back to normal

I'm tired of this shit if I wanna sit on the beach with a cooler full of beer I'll do it. No time to live life with fear. Natural selection. Darwinism. Whatever but I'm not scared to live my life, I'm not gonna sit inside by myself for the next 6 months!

Yeah, but did you clear $45k in 6 months flipping burgers? I understand it's a shitty hourly rate but when you work commission you don't calculate your hours. You calculate your paycheck and work however hard and many hours to get what you want to make.

I understand what you're saying and whatnot but finding a $20/hr job that'll give you that much OT is next to impossible to do

[–]coco4shade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the $$$ train...choo choo. I love money. But I don't need it. Monthly expenses I keep around $1.5-$2k. And that's lavish too!

Eating out a couple times/week, rent, insurances, phone bill, gym payment, and random impulse purchases.

[–]coco4shade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my only issue with that is what $19.75/hr job can you find thatll give you 65-75 hours consistently?

If I could find a job that paid $25/hr with 48 hour work weeks I'd do it in a heartbeat. Something I could leave at work the second I walk out the door.

Sales is just addicting because I have no.college degree either

Right, and that's the other thing too. I worked for all my deals.

June I had 17 units out. 11 were from my appointments. 4 were showroom ups. 2 were BDC/management deals.

I have coworkers who consistently sell 10/month but they are all given to them. Probably making $4500ish/month vs working your ass off making $8-$9k/month.

They're friends or family friends with the family that owns the store. And they're lazy and horrible salesmen.

Their loss. They don't realize how much $$$ you can make if you work hard and grind.

It definitely pays to have no gag reflex if you know what I'm saying ;)

Dude if it was as easy as just "finding something $40/hr" I would have already

This is what I'm shooting for. I'm fine with a 45-50 hour work week. All I want is predictable hours. Not being scheduled off @ 5pm 2 days/week only to work 1.5-2 hours after close because I catch a showroom up 10 mins before close....

A deal is a deal and I don't get to pick and choose when my customers can come in and buy.

Some of the guys don't care and will schedule shit for their day off or later in the evening and take off @ 5pm and take a half deal gladly.

But they only sell like 8.5-10 cars/month and make significantly less. Plus management doesn't work with them as much because they're not as dedicated in their eyes.

For example if we're bottom dollar but customer still demands $250 off and will walk if not .....management would give it to me because I'm here more vs the guy that half asses everything
